That was a result of sin infesting the world outside the garden... It could have gone on for a very long time.... Jim

He didn't create a world in which violence and killing had to happen...He created a world where the lamb and the lion used to play side-by-side! But when Adam and Eve disobeyed the Lord and then lied to try and cover it, they brought sin into the world; and that sin is what has caused all the pain, suffering, and fear in this world. A time will com where we will once again live in peace without pain and suffering, Heaven!!

This whole world and universe is based on life feeding on life and destruction. It's all based on bodies that are lacking and that have NEEDS -- physical needs (food, clothing, warmth, oxygen) and psychological needs ('love', companionship, feelings of productivity, etc.). Our bodies and everything here are built as devices of separation and clearly have nothing to do with a loving creator -- our bodies developed its mechanisms (including its consciousness and its faculties) as survival and to protect itself from an attacking universe (viruses, heat, cold, accidents, predators, etc.). The whole mechanism is horrible -- even when we humans think we resolved it by becoming vegetarian we're still left with the fact that we're feeding on life to maintain our own and that our bodies have a need that is defined outside ourselves -- why create bodies that have any needs? If God is unconditional love (no conditions, no needs) then bodies -- which are inherently lacking and dependent upon the universe (oxygen, food, etc.) -- can't be from God. That's why there are theologies that say that God has nothing to do with this universe and knows us only as we really are -- in the same state of being as god which is formless and beyond individuality. The theology gets into how the universe was created but that's another story ...

Why create a human race that continually questions why He did certain things? Ever think that maybe God likes to go hunting, fishing, and eat a well-cooked burger? It may bring pain, suffering, and fear, but it also brings plenty of happiness with it too. Maybe God decided that the best way to feel the highest heights was to make it possible to feel the lowest lows.
I'm sticking with He likes to hunt though.

completely stupid and not even real to the narrative. i've got translated the full Genesis from the Greek and the Hebrew. labored with the Latin and study all Augustine's commentaries. especially much each and every thing you're saying is contradicted interior the narrative itself ! Readers, i will say it for the only hundredth time, get this artwork with the aid of between the perfect Semitic scholars ever : The Pentateuch as Narrative with the aid of John Sailhamer

its ecosystem. some has to die in order to live. if no living things die, the earth will get over-populated and we'll ALL die because there r no resources left. wen living things die, they become resources (petroleum and stuff)..and our grandkids could live and so on..
slaughter doesnt cause animals pain. studies said that.
and suffering. thats y we have to be kind to living things. no need to drown chickens or electrocute them to death. slaughter is enough.
fear is natural. can u imagine a world where nobody fears anything?? right now, i can just imagine evrybody being rude. really rude.
y not u just be thankful that ur alive in this world instead of questioning God y he created this world? He has His reasons. He knows better than all of us. so just be grateful.

Great question!
My guess is that God had to establish an order of authority. He gave man authority and power over all living creatures on earth.
I get so frustrated when liberals place a higher value on animal life over a human life. Save the whales vs. abortion.

Take the human invention of god out of the picture, and replace it with common sense, and your problem is solved. Critters evolved with nutritional needs, the food chain, and all the rest of it. Evolution is fact, hon, not theory. And god is something other than an old man with a beard that went around pulling ribs out of people and creating females....

he didnt, God created a perfect world in Eden and man screwed it up for everyone....Adam and Eve didnt eat meat until after they were kicked out....READ GENESIS, and then maybe you'll rethink your question. If you people actually READ your bible most of your questions would be answered on here.

I hate the killing too, but remember, God's initial creation- Eden, did not have any of that. It started happening when the serpent/devil made its apearance and man fell from grace.
