Which is more economical for big business - owning slaves or hiring illegal aliens?

Forget momentarily the immorality of owning slaves and hiring illegal aliens at unlivable wages.

Owning a slave required a large capital cost. Then there was feeding, clothing, housing, and medical care that the slave owner had to cover.

With hiring an illegal alien, there is no initial cost, the illegal is the one responsible for feeding, clothing, and housing themselves (and family) and the taxpayers will pay for the medical.

Plus a willing worker is more productive then an unwilling worker. And illegals are less likely to change jobs so turnover is lower. If one gets hurt or killed, there are many more waiting to take their place.

Now are both (involuntary slavery and voluntary slavery) immoral?

If you check out "V"'s profile you will see why she posted such a hateful response.

She claims she is a business owner (how many illegals do you abuse for your personal financial gain?) and a mortgage broker (so you NEED the voluntary slaves to buy houses?).

I guess people do not like to have their morality questioned. V reminds me of the pro-slavery people who claimed slavery was better for the slaves that living free in poverty!

In fact check the profile of anyone that is "pro-illegal alien" I did and I found the majority were "business owners" or had answered or asked questions indicating friends or relatives were illegal.

To me that is as telling as a slave owner arguing for slavery! But eveyone is entitled to their own opinion!

Some one that accepts a wage for work can not be a voluntary slave..No one forces the illegal alien to come to America.No one holds a gun on them and tells them they must accept a substandard wage.Because they are illegal they know they cant get top dollar for their work.But again NO no forces this person to work for lower wages.If you are paid you can not be a slave any way so no matter how veiled your question is...the illegal alien is not in any way a "voluntary slave" you know that and I know that.Stop reaching for the pitty pot it doesn't work.
No full scale amnesty under any guise.

I don't think you can compare them to slaves but possible to child labor. These companies that hire this labor force willingly abuse them for profit. As a country if these where not adults and illegal immigrants we would be in a up roar over it. Once again we have a massive work force right here in America that is being abused and a whole work force of illegals in the same boat. We have people in the system (welfare) who can work who get everything and people who can't work who get nothing. Yet we are so proud of ourselves we start a war to bring unwanted policies to a foreign country. The news media is to blame and maybe looking back the skinheads and KKK was not to far off in their warnings. Not to say they where right in their beliefs but maybe their reasoning was not to far off. A one day shutdown in this country is what is needed. No work,no gas sales and don't vote. Don't stop and buy that news paper and only watch reruns of the Cosby show. We are Americans and we need to start acting like it again if not for us for preservation of our country

Actually, if they are given less than poverty wages we, the tax paying public, often pick up the cost of feeding clothing and housing their families through food stamps and aid to families with dependant children. That is on top of the cost of education of their children, taken from our own children's education funds.

Slave owners never had it so good.

Megz, boy are you so wrong about medical. Put Medical, illegal immigrants into your browser. Just this week there were stories about how childbirth costs alone to illegals costs CA $400 MILLION a year.

Illegals can not get food stamps, medi cal, or cash aid. If they have children that are legal citizens that are minors they can only get very little for the children that are legal. Not even with a fake SS#. This is in California. I'm not sure about other states.

Yes this is all immoral! Mexicans, Asians, Indians, Puerto Ricans, Blacks, White trash, Or any poor people, (or who ever is struggling to be part of a country that actually help their own) are all people with feelings and getting over on them because they are less fortunate is wrong!!
