The only "religious" symbols on the Dollar bill are Masonic, not Christian. Unless you're speaking of another nation's Dollar...
Even "In God We Trust" is a "To Whom It May Concern" God.

Because of the fact that the other symbols are not treated as religious by the vast majority. For example, although Thursday is derived from Thor, the vast vast majority see no religious significance in this. However, the christian symbols on money are clearly and intentionally religious. It's why fundamentalists leveraged the climate of fear at various points in our country's history to get this added to money (with the final act done in the 1950s by leveraging the cold war and fear of communism -- linking it with atheism, etc.).

Hello Myaloo,
I believe the day we taken IN GOD WE TRUST off of our money- is the day American will fall completely apart.
Because of the faith of the christian in this country is the only reason why the country is still standing today.
Our fathers before us founded this country on trust and faith in God, they came here so they could worship him in spirit and in truth.
Can you imagine what this country would be like for our children and their children. Oh My God. Blessing to you

There is supposed to be seperation of church and state. In court you are sworn in with a bible. In school the pledge of allegience had God in it. Money has God on it. Where is this seperation? People think the two together are not a bad thing. I have one answer to that. The crusades!!!!!

I think people need to get a life. Are we really to the point where we are going to start pissing and moaning about what is on our money. Its just money, all it does it sit in your wallet untouched and unlooked at until you spend it so who cares what is on it. Have you ever heard of a store going "i'm not taking that, godly words are on it." No, because nobody cares.

Why not keep it? If you are so offended by having Christian symbolism on the dollar bill then don't use any money.

No God belongs on my money. Nor does any God belong in any sworn oath. I would support legislation to have these items removed from my money.

Because there are more important causes in the world today. Dealing with something so petty seems, well, petty.

I don't think you are going to get as much opposition as you expect. I agree. Get rid of religion in the public arena!
