Get with your veterinarian and ask for an anti-emetic for your dog. If your dog's health checks out, then the vet will prescribe it for you.

You can try either Dramamine or Bonamine. I've used both and they worked wonders for my dogs as pups. Eventually, the boys grew out of the motion sickness during car trips.

Best of luck!

my dog does too. I gave him dramamine a few times and he just slept the whole trip. So now he gets in the car and goes to sleep without the dramamine. He did better in the front seat than the back. Basically they need to see out the front just like people. Then he won't get sick, but if you can't arrange that then my dog really likes to lay in his crate for trips. More stable and secure for him.

Try ginger snap cookies. I raise Great Danes. When we sale the puppies, I always have them eat a couple of the cookies before they travel to their new homes. Always works!

my vet told me to use benadryl. it didn't work for my dog, but maybe for yours. my dog figured out on his own that if he sits on the side with the open window, he doesn't get sick. he only sticks his snout out the window, not his whole head. my dog is not normal by any sense of the word, but i love him anyway. of course in cold weather i travel with his window down and the heat on full blast.

My girl pup was always sick in the car....we gave her one Benadryl (per vet's rec....she's a 70 lb lab)...luckily she eventually grew out of it. Now the other pup is on Benadryl for his allergies! It's a wonder drug!
