Eleven (11) steel sutras in my eyeball. The surgery was not difficult since I was not aware of it. But everything afterwards has not been easy. The event occurred in 1971 in Palo Alto , Calif. and the surgery was done by the best at Stanford University Hospital. The Dr. /Drs. wanted to remove both eyes at the time of surgery... I said NO! I have approx. 60% vision with that eye,

Ugh, last February, I had heart surgery. . . it sucked. Since it wasn't an open heart surgery, they just poked 5 holes below my belly and put all these wire-like things up my veins. It left a scar about the diameter of a golf ball, and it's gross! But the hospital food was good! It just sucked that they wouldn't let me get up. My throat hurt really bad, because during the surgery, they hooked me up to a breathing machine, and shoved a hose down my throat. Haha.

I haven't had very many surgeries but I'd say the c-section when my daughter was born was the worst. My incision site got infected afterwards and I had to be hospitalized on IV antibiotics. It got so bad when I got home after having her my incision site burst open..it was so gross. I went straight back to the hospial and they admitted me........

Hmm. I'd say that ACL reconstructive surgery was pretty bad, but only because the rehab process is so long. (Mine was 6 months.)
Best wishes to you and I hope that you recover from surgery well!
