I'm excited to find out that the HD-dvd discs are able to be cracked, and that they already have hd burners for laptops and desktops. But do HD-dvd discs work at all with standard dvd players? Who will win the Blu-ray/hd dvd war?

No. You must have an HD DVD player for HDDVD or a BluRay Player for BluRay DVDs. I think BluRay will win as it holds more data than the HDDVD format.

No, HD-DVDs don't work in standard dvd players, because the technology isn't there. Blu-ray will definitely win- the picture is so clear and alluring. It's like a dream- the picture quality. Unfortunately, the price is high, because you have to buy the player, the TV ,and the dvds.
