Salt water is best. Keep going with it, different people heal in different time spans. My daughters and her friend had theirs done together. My daughters healed within a couple of days but her friends took a few weeks to stop pussing and bleeding.

well, don't use contact solution. It has lots of preservatives and additives that won't help your piercing.

Your soap may be too strong. My piercer recommends satin soap, which can be purchased online at tribalectic.com. antibacterial isn't always better. You need some bacteria on your skin to fight off infection.

Make sure your saline solution you soak with is measured properly. 1/4 tsp noniodized sea salt to one cup of water. Soak for about ten minutes once a day. If you notice it getting tender or crusty, you can soak more often, but not for as long.

This piercing is hard to heal. It's getting rubbed by your clothes all the time. Some people say to use an eye patch to cover it when you're out and about.

And stop touching it.

Here are some suggestions:
* Clean your belly button 2 times daily (no more, no less) with antibacterial soap. Before cleaning, use a Q-tip soaked in warm water to gently remove any crust that may have formed around the ring.

* In addition to regular cleanings, salt-water soaks work well to promote healing. You can buy non-iodized sea salt and put about 1/2 tsp in 1/4 cup of cooled boiled water. Put this in a shot glass or small medicinal cup and bend over. Place it over your navel, lie down and kill 15 minutes.

* Lavender oil and tea tree oil may help speed healing. To be sure that you are using the essential oils appropriately, consult your piercing professional before using them.

* Replace your belly button piercing jewelry only after your piercing has completely healed (usually 6 months to a year).

* Also, when you take a shower, the shampoo and body wash needs to be throughly washed away from the site.

* Don't touch it a lot and if you do touch it wash your hands before you do!

Belly button piercings usually take 6 months to a year to fully heal so be patient.

Body piercings are difficult, and healing times vary depending on where you get them.

Belly piercings, as a rule, take about six months to TRULY heal. That means, dont pull at or mess with the jewelry, dont change the jewelry, and keep the area clean like its an open wound for about six months.

Dont use things that are too abrasive, such as certain soaps, and never use ointments (like bacatracin or neosporin) on piercings (they are puncture wounds, remember). If you websearch, you can find a mild antibacterial soap that is made for piercings, which will work wonders. It wont irritate the area, since excessive cleaning will actually hurt you in the long run.

My piercer is adamant about those things, and I have never had a problem healing up my piercings....ever. My belly was difficult to heal, as well.

Good luck!

Stop the contact solution. DO not use dishwashing soap, it is FAR too harsh. Alcohol and peroxide ate topical antiseptics and aren't meant to be used on a wound. On the Bactine label it specifically states that it is NOT intended for use in puncture wounds. Follow the link below. This is the reccomended aftercare form the Association of Professional Piercers.

there's really nothing you can do, three months is definalty not enough time, belly piercings are one of the ones that take the longest to heal, 6-8 months minimum, so just make sure that you keep it clean. some people say that cleaning it with alcohol helps. i don't know never tried it. mine took 8 months so good luck, don't pull on it or change it, only touch it if ur going to clean it and just be patient it's well worth the wait.
good luck

It will sting, but I used Sea Salt (you can purchase from your local grocery store) and it will help your piercing to heal fast. Just make sure you dont wear anything restrictive around your waist so that it doesnt rub your piercing.

I had the comparable suitable subject, i had the stupid subject for virtually a 365 days and it does no longer heal relatively worth ****, it certainly fell out of my dermis and now I also have a large scar...seems, the piercer did no longer make the hollow deep sufficient, so the little quantity of dermis around the piercing merely merely does no longer heal. you ought to merely take it out enable it heal and bypass do it back later.

DO NOT USE PEROXIDE OR DISHWASHING SOAP!!! That is not good for piercings! When I got mine done I was told to not use soap and do not use peroxide (instead use rubbing alchohol). Try taking iron supplements and use epsom salt with warm water. Try not to touch it too much

Use Bactene spray. It worked wonders for mine!! Mine also took a while to heal though, so just give it time. :)
