We have three boxers, two males and a female. They have lived in a combined household for a year, and the males always do their "gnawing" at each other (basically, both having their mouths open and half-growling at each other, with no harm to either one.) Yesterday I came home to a blood bath throughout the house (no kidding, it looked like someone slaughtered a cow.) No one was home, so I'm not sure what sparked the fight, but they were both seriously injured, one being torn up much worse than the other. I'm not sure what happened, they've had their scratches before but nothing to this extreme. Any ideas of what to do with them while we aren't at home??? We can't kennel them (one has become "cage aggressive" due to this and the other one breaks out of EVERY kennel we've tried) and when we seperate them within the house they end up scratching and breaking through doors to get to the other one. Any one have any alternative ideas??? Thanks in advance!

Since you've let this problem continue to the point where it's escalated to a "blood bath", you won't crate them and can't separate them, what alternatives to you have? Are they neutered? Is the female spayed? These dogs needed to have their behaviour modified when this aggression started because it always, always gets worse. If you intend keeping them, I'd say these dogs are way, way past the point of obedience. You need to get a qualified behaviourist in to teach you how to handle these dogs.

If the males are not neutered they could be fighting over territory that each dog thinks is his or perhaps over the girl dog if she is anywhere near her heat.
Sounds like they have not liked each other for some time so it shouldn't be a surprise that they got into this fight. They will need to be completely separated with a good fence between them. The fence should be solid so that they cannot see each other.
Once this conflict has started and gotten so sever you won't be able to keep them together with out fighting. And breaking up a dog fight with dogs that big is a good way to get yourself bit too.
I am sorry you have problem alike this cause you will no longer be able to keep the dogs together. You can try introducing them at a park or parking lot, some place that neither dog calls home, A strange environment may pull them together but if the fighting is still on there minds, I'm afraid that you will have to keep them separated.

I had three dogs once, they had one very serious fight. I got rid of the last one added to the pack as this one was clearly the problem, the other two had been fine before and were fine afterward. I later added a third dog but rather than a female in with my two original neutered males, I added another neutered male. They got on great!
I am not 100% sure on this but I think, three is a crowd, and an odd sex out can create tension among the two same sexed dogs.
The only way to keep these three together is to cross fence your yard with her on one side and the males on the other. Doesn't sound like a good time to me. Why not just find a good home for her? Good luck.

Are they neutered? If not start by neutering both of them to get the testosterone out of their system. That will help a little, but if it is a dominance issue it may never be solved. Is the femal fixed because if she went in to heat and they arent neutered that could have caused the fight. I hate to say this but you may have to find a home for one or both of them. Or bulid them a fenced yard to keep them in during the day. I hope you figure something out before one or more of them gets seriously hurt.

As much as I hate to say it, but if you can't kennel them, or put them in separate rooms, for whatever reasons, you might need to consider getting rid of the more aggressive dog. I know how much loosing a pet can hurt, but sometimes you have to do what's better for them, not whats less hurtful for you. There is one alternative that I have seen other people do when their pets are out of control when they leave the house, but I don't approve. Go to your local vet and get tranquilizers for your dogs and give them one when you are gone.

i think there are 2 issues you're able to do. initially, is to coach them. That way, once you exclaim a command, your canines will quit and hear you. in spite of the undeniable fact that, once you're a hectic person and don't have the time to get them knowledgeable, i might propose giving your canines a good tug and tutor some hand alerts to be sure that it will no longer ensue back next time. i want to propose getting them knowledgeable however yet, it is merely me.

Very sorry to say, you need to find another good home for one of these males.Make sure you tell the perspective new owners that he can't be around another. Is your female spayed? If not this could possibly be one reason. Of course they could be showing their dominance.I NEVER would leave these dogs alone again. I hope both your baby boys heals fast and well. Good luck to you and your babies!!!

Put up a house fence to separate them or give them something to do instead like treats stuck in a toy that they have to get out.

try and keep one outside that might help. Or try and bring them to a trainer. If that does not work well I think you know what you have to do.
