I can't speak for anyone else. I have noticed people trying to be witty, and it falls short. True witticism must have elements of truth to it and should be funny not only to the person making the quip, but also to the recipients. Not too many of the 'quips' are truly funny. Maybe it's an attempt to gain attention, even negative attention being better than no attention?

Wrong.
I'm here to share my views on religion/God/Christianity/ anything else that comes up.

If I'm witty in the process, so be it. I'm not trying to make myself look good.

Yes. I try to come up with either an extremely insightful comment, or lacking one a comment that I feel is humorous and will amuse people.

It varies day to day for me. Sometimes I feel very tolerant, other days I feel silly. Sometimes I do it out of spite.
