your hair sounds pretty...so you probably shouldn't keep it back in braids all the time. maybe you could cut it? if you did decide to, you should probably get it layered so your hair isn't as thick and is easier to manage. i agree w/ the other ppl...if you're five feet, really long hair will just make you look shorter. so, maybe, a few inches below your shoulder would look good. and luckily for you, wavy hair is AWESOME and you don't really have to do anything to it. if your hair is naturally wavy, don't straighten it b/c personally, i think wavy hair has more "character" than straight hair. good luck w/ that!

You've got a lot of choices, actually. Choice one- you can get a large, flat barrette and clip it all at the top of your head, to come cascading down in back. This will keep it out of your face, but let it hang softly to frame your face.
You could do two smaller braids at your temples, then pull them back and gather them together with the rest of your hair for a rather ornate ponytail.
You could make all the younger goth girls ill with jealousy over the excessive two ponytail look which most need to wear extensions to look as my little ponyish as most like it.
You could keep it simple but tone up your usual braids by weaving in some ribbons.
Then, you could look at medieval and renaissance art for ideas. Most people don't have that kind of hair anymore, but the styles still look good. Whatever you do don't cut it! I can't get mine past my waist. I'm so jealous.

I have thick, wavy hair, my boyfriend loves this look...
Side part your hair and pull it into a ponytail at the base of your neck... Don't pull your hair all the way through the band use a thick band and clips to hold down any fly aways!! It's simple but it's a cute gypsy sort of look
Don't cut your hair!!
I bet it's gorgeous!

since your hair is wavvy, and its so long, you have a lot of weight at the bottum so the top of your head probably doesnt look as wavy. i have the same thing happen with my hair.
if you just get layers put into it it will really help cause you have thick hair, it will be easier to manage, and you'll have consistant waves throughout your hair.
if you want, you could also get a good portion of your hair cut off and donate it to those foundations that makes wigs out of it for cancer pationts who have gone bald.

if your five feet you shouldnt have your hair that long, it makes you look shorter. If you cut it, not only would it be easy to manage but it would make you look taller. You could get a straightening iron and it would proabably look really good, especially since your hair is wavy, so try giving that a try. Also if you layered and cut your hair you would have many different options, a ponytail would look good, or half up half down. Trust me a straightening iron and cutting and layering your hair are the best choices.

Good Luck , I myself do a long braid with with glass beads tied in it randomly.

If you were willing to give up a little length you can donate some hair to Locks of Love. They are a non profit who take hair donations to make wigs for children who have lost thier hair due to cancer, and then it will be a little bit more managable maybe to just straigten it and let it hang.

thing Marge Simpson ( the proportions are right and blue dye is available )
seriously what you need is not a style but a layered cut that keeps the length - go to a salon ( hard to answer without seeing your face shape )
don't worry about looking short lot's of guys dig short ( some people ! )
