I just met Tom about 3 weeks ago. We've been hanging out a lot and I really got to like him. This past Christmas Eve I invited him and a girl friend of mine to come along to a friend’s house for Christmas eve dinner and he was paying too much attention to my girl friend. They chat, danced, and he manages to make sure she was first for everything and I was either left out or second. Now, he does not seem to understand why I felt humiliated. All my friends, even the kids at the party did not like him or what he was doing, so everyone got it but him. Now he is trying to make it seem like is no big deal. I felt devastated and hurt. I honestly don’t think he will be respectful to me in the future. I don’t feel or see him the same anymore. I think I know the answer to this, but wanted to post this out and hear some more opinions on the subject.

you already have the answer to this one. let him go. he disrespected you in front of a number of people and besides...no one really liked him anyway. just be thankful that this was only three weeks old and not three years old. Happy Holidays!!!!

Hmmm....do you live in Boise? It's funny, but not really, but I met a guy named Tom who acted the exact same way. I had him over for a summer bbq and swim party and he met my friend, who is a former ballet dancer and is adorable, and took it upon himself to sit with her and entertain her much of the party. Later, he acted like he didn't get why it bothered me. He said he was playing host at the party and was just entertaining my guests.

He was like that off and on during the time we dated and eventually, we broke up because he said I was too worried about it.

Sounds like your Tom didn't think about your feelings or respecting you in front of your friends. I understand your feelings of humiliation. Maybe it would be best to get rid of him now before you become too attached.

OMG. dump his @ss.

first of all, i was dating this guy awhile back, who i thought was So GREAT. he was so sweet to me, we went out like everyday, he seemed to really like me, introduced me to his parents, all that jazz. *but* he wouldn't say i was his girlfriend, and after a few months i was like, where is this going? anyways, so it was my birthday party and i was all excited to invite him and "show him off". i thought he was great! u know what he did???

he didn't talk to many people, he gave everyone attitude, and he kept FLIRTING w/ this one friend of mine wearing a SHORT skirt. EVERYONE could see that he was checking her out, it was so embarrasing. he really ruined my birthday, and i knew my friends were like, what the HELL are u doing w/ that punk?

so later i talked w him and asked him what was up, and he was so stupid. so i broke it off w/ him. later i found out he did it on purpose cuz he was too lame to break it off w/ me. what a jerkoff.

trust me, u will find this out later: when a guy is really into u, he will NEVER treat u like that. a guy who really likes a girl will do anything for her.....but a guy who is whatevers will treat u like whatever. (see how he was interested in ur friend so he Made sure he was around her??? =T)

good luck~
