You get what you pay for. Akai is a very cheap brand. I hope you at least got the protection agreement with it. You can get a 42" Panansonic plasma for a around 1500 hundred it is the #1 rated plasma in consumer reports. I would just cash out and get the best on the market.

Thats a easy one. The white line is a directional line indicating the directions to the store that you purchased your TV from so that you can enjoy the fulfillmet to see what happens when you break a plasma TV over a salesman head. Its truly worth the $3,700 plus medical expenses

Hi. Don't feel bad. All new TVs may fail (yes, even PIoneer and Panasonic). Typical failure rate is 7-10%.

Back to your problem. Do you see the line all the time, or for specific inputs? (TV, DVD player, etc.) . If it shows only on TV, it may be a tuner problem, otherwise it
could be many things, ask for service and I hope your TV is still under warranty.
