I don't quite understand your question. I'm British, I'm pleased and proud to be British but that hasn't been affected by the recent terrorist attacks.
I had my teenage years in the 1970s when Irish bomb blasts were a regular occurence. Restaurants in cities were sandbagged, stations etc were often brought to a halt by a warning or suspect package. That was just life.
So yes, I love being British - well, it's got to be better than being Belgian.....

I live in the US. I'm very much in love with my country.... it's the politics that I'm very, very ashamed of.

The lands are (what hasn't been tainted yet) extrordinarily beautiful. This country has more biomes to offer and more weather/climate combinations than almost anywhere else in the world. Many of the individual people could be - if given the right circumstances - exceptionally sweet and caring.

I am, however, ashamed to be thought of as "An American" today. I am very leary about going over seas, or heck, even over the border to Canada or Mexico. Our government is ready to put up a 20 foot wall between the US and Mexico to keep the Mexican countrymen out. We invaded and are currently occupying a country that has nothing to do with us and have elected, not once, but TWICE, the same idiot who bankrupt all of the businesses he ran before assuming the throne - er - presidency. He's been in trouble with the law, he was a cheerleader in high school or college (one of them), he has debts to the oil companies that are likely being paid back now with our fuel prices and his US waged war in Iraq, our stand off with North Korea (although I think the leader there is off his rocker and we shouldn't bother to negociate any further than the UN believes is beneficial), and Iran, and he's cheated in both elections to get his ballots counted while preventing the other guy's from being registered. Twice.

I am proud of the people I know who strive to make this country a county to boast about, but I am ashamed to be lumped into the "those Americans" category by the rest of the world.

I'm not too fond of England's political regime, either, but hey, at least you're not run by a self-serving would-be dictator.

I love this country enough to die for it, to sacrafice 2 years of my life to server 7000 miles away from home. To give up the freedoms I fight for and let go of all luxuries. To be in the most horrible situations, endure the most physical and mental stress imaginable, and then find it in my heart to be happy and proud no matter what. That is how much I LOVE this country!

why limit your attack on england, every country we assist ends up kicking dirt in our faces later on. we would be better off just releasing out troops from all the "politically correct" bonds they have to follow, let them kick some rag head a s s and then pull our guys home.

sorry, just tired of all the crap our guys have to go through for no pat on the back.
