The only legal requirement pretty much is that you are both free to marry and can prove it with birth certificates and or divorce decrees.

Get her to follow you to the UK. If she turns cruel then you might have difficulties in the US. Though just keep your fare home and all will be fine. I think HSBC works in both countries. [check though]
