I should a very little bit of cardio (just to get your heart going) thats it. then you do the Strenght training. then you do your real cardio.
Doing too much cardio at first is bad because thats where you burn all your calories. You have no energy left for your strenght training.
AND AGAIN WITH THE LONG MEANINGLESS POST BY BILL!! DUDE STOP IT UR NOT HELPING ANY ONE!! its copy and paste from an internet page!!

Well, I always did my cardio first, so if I got tired and quit early I would at least have done that... But I just made a new friend who is a personal trainer and she said I'm wrong... LOL. Apparently, doing the strength training first awakens the muscles and begins the oxygenization (is that a word? LOL) and helps improve your overall results... There was a more detailed, scientific explanation, but I forgot it... LOL. Good luck!!! Is this a New Year's Resolution??? If so, work up a detailed plan of how to stick with it... Most people give up before February 1st! Remember that it takes several weeks to change your habits, so be patient and remind yourself that it will be worth it!!! â¥

You should always strength train before cardio because the benefits of it are much greater than doing the opposite. Lifting weights works your body to the point to where you are using all of the stored energy from insulin in your liver to lift the weights. This is where your body "takes" energy (calories) from first before it starts taking it from your stored fat. Therefore, after a good lifting session, you will burn more fat during your cardio session afterward because your body's first energy source is depleted. It is making the MOST out of every minute you spend at the gym. Studies show that your cardio workout will be about 300% more effective.

I was just told by the fitness center staff to do strength training first because if you do cardio first, you may be too tired to hold proper form when you're lifting weights. For the same reason, do your ab work at the very end of your workout - you really need your abs to be strong throughout your workout to keep your form correct and prevent injury.

My choice would be cardio for at least 10 minutes to get aerobic. That will greatly benefit your cardio system. Then I would switch to strenth training. I believe you will reduce the risk of injury to muscles and tendons with a good cardio warmup

Do the cardio first, as it will get your heart rate up. The weight training will then keep it up. That way you are still doing cardio even while lifting weights!

You have to warm up the muscles firstwith some cardio(5-10mins) then strecth then cardio then strength. If you strength first it will mess up your endurance during your cardio session.
