Absolutly I do.

I was raised in a severly Non religious family. To the point that there would be abuse if you even mentioned church.

When I got out of that environment, before I ever set foot in a church, there were a lot of things that were completly impossible to be explained. It wasn't Karma, it wasn't coincidence, it has never been able to be explained other then of God.

In time when these things happened I started to wonder and then I went to several Churches and several faiths and settled where I am now. I have gained knowledge, understanding and appreciation of my life.

I am not a blindly following christian. I question things all the time. I think anyway that I am an intelligent person, that comes from a scientific athieistic family, so I should be the example.. but yet I am the exception!!

Happy New Years!

Absolutely! Yes I do.

That said let me help you respond to future suggestions that the universe came about because all the stuff was already "out there" and a big bang brought it all together. Ask that they try this experiment: Grab a watch. Break it down to it's teeniest tiniest parts. Then take all those parts, stuff them into a balloon and inflate the balloon. Then when the balloon is nice and inflated they should just poke it and have it blow up. They should do that oh about 30 or 40 times and then come back and let you know how many times they come up with a watch.

HE always was, is , and always will be...no matter how many people try to do away with HIM. Just cuz someone doesn't believe in HIM, doesn't make HIM not real. Do you believe in the wind? can u see the wind? No, but you know its there cuz you can see what it does to things when it blows...same thing w/ God. You may not b able to see HIM, but just look at peoples lives that change after they accept HIM into their hearts...and yes I believe in God that sent HIS only begotten Son Jesus to this world to die on the cross so that we could have eternal life in heaven w/ HIM someday. He is the LORD and He created everything that our eyes can see. He made that known in the Bible. And for those who do not blieve in the Bible, doesn't mean that the Bible wasn't proof of God's existance. If you take GOD's WORD and throw it all away.........then have your own righteouness to go on, then yes i could c how someone could think that there is no GOD. But,.... if you take GOD at HIS WORD, then how could you not believe in HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS...(righteouness- what is right in your own eyes). It's kinda funny how scientists think they have it all figured out. But if there "Was" a "big bang"(which someone just made up any ways, and they have absolutely NO proof of), then where did the bang come from? And what proof do they have that there even was such a thing? I find it more realistic that God spoke and It happened, everything was created even us lil minded human beings, who were created in the first place to worship HIM, and look where our righteousness has brought us to these days........make believe stories of a "bang"? I thank God for His righteousness, and HIS Truth , and it is proven to me when you look back into history of ALL the many people who died trying to preserve the Bible, from people trying to do away w/ HIS WORD. Call me a fool if ya wanna, cuz i simply blieve that God did what HE said HE did, but i care more bout what GOD thinks of me than man's "opinion". And i knw that He is real, cuz I knw what i use to b, b4 , and i knw what i am know. And it was God who changed me. so someone who is asking for proof.........I M PROOF.

This is a trick question because it all depends on what is meant by 'god'. Is it the god that is a deity that punishes and rewards based on good deeds and belief? Is it an impersonal god that is the foundation of all existence? Is it the formless, non-personal thing that was here before the universe and that is unconditional love, with no concept of consciousness, individuality, sin, guilt, reward, punishment? And then ... what is this belief based on? People can believe anything they want -- shouldn't they try to directly experience this god (which many have -- enlightenment).
Now, in terms of what created the universe, whether we believe in god or not, we're left with the same fundamental mystery of existence: something always existing. If there was always a god then god always existed. If there is no god then we still have something -- process, potential, etc. -- that always existed. I have atheist friends who think they've solved the problem by just saying that there's a beginningless/endless cycle of universe creation/destruction (and our universe may have been preceded by billions of universes that came into being, lasted for billions and billions of years, and then collapsed). But then I point out that there's still this mystery of this 'thing' that has always existed and has within it all the mechanisms that give rise to universes and sentience. And when I finally bring them to where my mind goes, they finally see it and realize the implications.
So ... the key is: go beyond belief and into a direct experience. And it's not the 'experience' that people refer to with looking at the world, etc. It's an experience called ENLIGHTENMENT and it gives people answers that are beyond belief.

I do -but not the way most believe in a "MAN MADE" God, but rather a God that is Everywhere and infused in everything and yes even the BIG BANG-Evolution was God's way of infusing knowledge and creation together to form complex creatures that eventually became all of the current species we see today -I mean really there is sooooooo much proof toward Evolution and the Big Bang that to this day I cannot understand why some people think it's all fake -even though the Bible has not one shred of proof at all!

God is real. Just look at all the muslims secretly converting and secretly worshipping in Iraq when the punishment is death. Why would they risk when they were raised to believe muslim if they didn't truely feel the holy spirit and if Jesus wasn't real. Not only that but life growing inside of you, forming and being born, coming out of your body is so miraculous you have to believe. Who else could do such wonder other than our Lord and savior.

Yes. Hey remember the devil himself believes in God and trembles with fear. So just cuz a person believes doesnt make them a follower.

Hello Rosemarie,

Yes! I do believe in God. He has reveal his power to me in many ways, and there is so much evidence of his existence. The discovery of his existence are phenomenal. I hope you keep the faith. God bless you!

I do not believe in the god of the Abrahamic traditions for the same reason I do not believe in Odin, Zeus, and Osiris--there is no evidence for their actual existence and every reason to conclude that they are man-made.

I accept that those with faith in such things have a perfect right to believe whatever they like, but I prefer finding the actual, natural explanations behind questions about the universe and morality to those accepted on faith without evidence.
