Does it ever cross your mind that possibly, just possibly, one of them is right? And that the penalty for not believing the one that was right, the penalty not only fits the crime of not believing;but the penalty is infinitly worse than evan a child with an active imagination can imagine?

Psalms 53:1-The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Do you ever wonder if you should second guess your decion there is no God?

It crosses my mind all the time. However, what I see people do in the name of religion and my beliefs in science put me back in reality.

Most of us were believers at one time. I was raised to be, I just never could figure out why my parents were so delusional on the subject.

FYI: There are thousands of others. The penalty for not accepting Osiris is pretty high too. The Egyptians thought a lot of him. Do you ever second guess yourself? ---Ya, that's just how I feel.

What if the muslims are right? Have you ever considered that? You'd be screwed, wouldn't you?

Does that change anything in your mind? Probably not.

But just to educate you a bit on atheists... we don't REFUSE to believe in god.

It is not possible for us to believe in god. We have simply studied your religion more than you have. Sorry if that's insulting to you. But it's simply the truth. We accept the truth.

Personally, I'd love to be a Christian again. It was very comforting thinking I had a magical being that looked out for me. But short of a frontal lobotomy or a stroke, there is no possible way I will ever be a Christian again.

Could you convince yourself that Santa exists?

If you can understand that, you should be able to understand us.

You say it like we are just being stubborn. It's possible that there is a flying spaghetti monster but that isn't a good enough reason to say I believe it.

Personally, I never would assert that there is no God, since I don't know this. The same way I assert that I don't believe in any god because I see no evidence.

Ok given that there are over 2500 known gods, to which do you refer here? The god of the Hebrews or the god of the Christians? and, before you say they are the same god, have you actually studied Judaism? If so, then you know they are not.

Did you ever wonder if you should second guess your decision that your god is the only one or that he is the only right one?

Yours is just another Pascal's wager question.

Why do you christians feel that one should come to god through fire insurance? Is that how YOU came to him?

I believed in your god for many years.

Then I grew up and starting thinking.

And now I realize there is a God and a GODDESS, no Satan, no hell, and no such thing as sin - only poorly thought out choices.

You really need to find another drum to beat. This is getting stale.

Did it ever cross YOUR mind that there is no God? That you are living your life on a book and a person that isn't true? That when you die you are only going to end up six feet under?

NOONE knows for sure. Not you, not me. Not the pastor, not the hardcore atheist.

Uh, why should I? Have YOU ever considered that maybe your Christian God isnt the right choice? Obviously not.... And "refuse" to beleive? If your God wasnt such an egomaniac and didnt REQUIRE beleif, I wouldnt be refusing...

Wow. A book that calls those that dont beleive in the book "fools" Wow. There's a stretch...

So you, as a Christian are saying I should believe in God because it isn't a good idea to risk going to hell? That's the reason to believe? Surely you guys should be trying to make a better case than 'do you want to take the gamble of beeing wrong'?

not at all and here is why...
Someone asked here recently "what would you say to God to justify your disbelief if you died and were standing before God".

My answer:
"I would say 'God, while I was on Earth I saw so many people claiming to know your intentions and words, and so many people killing each other in your name, I decided that I would just concentrate on being a good human being for my fellow man since that was all I could be sure about.' If God can't respect this answer, then he isn't my God".
