Hi there -- I bought Michael Mahoney's 100 Day Audio Program for IBS about a month ago and was wondering if anyone else has used these hypnotherapy CD's for IBS? I have mild IBS and I'm not sure if it's working yet because I haven't been quite on schedule but has anyone else used these??

I've used hypnotherapy successfully for all sorts of things. Never came across a program for IBS before. That's pretty cool.

For me, my IBS symptoms ended up being celiac disease, which I had never even heard of two years ago. I tried all sorts of diets and supplements, many of which helped a little bit, but never enough.

They're starting to recommend that people with IBS, or IBS-like symptoms be tested for celiac disease, which is an intolerance to gluten (wheat, rye, barley and oats). A lot of people with celiac were misdiagnosed as having IBS for years. (18 years for me). It takes an average of 11 years for a person with celiac to be diagnosed.

Here's a webpage by the National Institutes of Health on celiac -
http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/celiac/

And another from the Mayo Clinic -

If that starts sounding familiar here are a couple of message boards for people with celiac and other gluten intolerances.

You can also be intolerant to other common foods and get IBS-type symptoms. Soy, corn, eggs, yeast, dairy, etc. You may want to think about keeping a food/symptoms journal and see if you can identify the culprit(s).

I hope you feel better soon.

Hypnotherapy is in simple terms a tactic attempting to reroute the way you think of-cognitive thinking. Hypnotherapy is like 40/60- I truly have met such diverse people who've used it for one subject or yet another and that they've all stated that hypnotherapy did no longer paintings for them. I truly have tampered with it to provide up smoking and it did no longer do something for me. besides the undeniable fact that I understand IBS so i'm thinking that possibly hypnotherapy will help ease your tension and loosen up your nerves. So it truly comes all the way down to what you think of and decide directly to do.
