Here it is:
TOASTY GARLIC BREAD
Melt 1/3 cup butter in 11x7x1-1/2-inch baking pan.
Add 1 or 2 cloves garlic, minced.
Add six 1-inch thick slices of French bread, turning quickly to butter both sides.
Let stand 10 minutes.
Heat at 350 deg. F. till toasty, about 20 minutes.
This is the original recipe. You can substitute French bread with white bread although the former has a better presentation. Also, you can substitute the fresh garlic with powder but the former has more aroma. If you want to be creative, you can sprinkle your favorite spices before baking.
Enjoy your meal.

1 Loaf of Nice Italian Bread.
(If you can't find a nice loaf of Italian bread then French bread will do as well, but just don't tell anyone it's French bread, maybe they won't notice ;)
Fresh Parsley (This is Important!! It MUST be Fresh Parsley!)
Garlic of coarse!
Butter - Real Butter (none of that margarine stuff!) - One whole stick!
Sweet Basil, Garlic Powder, and Oregano
(You will also need patience and concentration to make perfect Garlic Bread. The really crucial part is when you have the bread under the broiler, you really have to pay attention at this point, it can go to not quite crunchy enough, to burnt uneatable Garlic Bread in no time at all...)

Quick Note: The process of making the garlic bread is usually prepared right in front of your guests, because it is the last thing you'll want to cook. I'm usually in the middle of a nice conversation with my guests as I'm cutting up the garlic and mixing it into the butter and spreading it on the bread and so on. It adds to the hunger of your guests

First...
Get a medium size bowl and drop a stick of butter in it. Let it sit there for a couple hours, you want it to get nice and soft.

Next...
ok - After the butter is soft get out the garlic. Get about 4 cloves of garlic and chop them up as fine as you can. - Throw them into the bowl with the butter.

Next...
Chop up as fine as you can 1/4 cup of "fresh" parsley. Throw it into the bowl with the butter.

Next...
Sprinkle in about 1/2 tsp. of garlic powder

Next...
Sprinkle in about 2 tsp. of sweet basil and a dash of oregano

Next...
Mix all the contents in the bowl well. OK - Let's call this Bowl #1

Next...
Now do the exact same thing in a separate bowl with a 1/2 stick of butter and half all the other ingredients for this part. You will use this later on in the process. OK - Let's call this Bowl #2

Next...
Pre-Heat your oven to 350 Degrees F.

Next...
While your oven is Pre-Heating, spread the yummy buttery garlic mix onto your nice loaf of Italian bread. (You will want to slice your loaf in half long ways). Spread an even layer over the bread (using the contents of Bowl #1) and get a little on the crust edges as well.

Sure! Just spread some butter across the slice, sprinkle some onion and garlic powder across the top, and then toast or back it till it browns a little (probably jut a couple minutes). You could also make cheesey garlic bread by following the same steps and sprinking some italian cheese blend on top at the end.

You can buy garlic bread spread at the grocery store, and use that.

What we do is smother one side of the white bread with real butter (not margarine). Lightly salt the buttered bread. Sprinkle with Garlic Powder. If you want a little ooomph....put a little real garlic on top. You can roast the clove and spread it on, or use a garlic press and put the bits on. Bake until browned...under the broiler works well too.

You mean white sandwich bread?

You can melt butter, mix-in minced garlic (or garlic powder for that matter), and spread on the sandwich bread. Then lay the bread-out on a baking sheet, and put under the broiler.

It's good in a pinch.

Yes you can....butter the bread, sprinkle on garlic salt and some oregano for color (its optional but those are the green leafy things on garlic toast) Then turn the oven on low and put the bread on a cookie sheet...put the cookie sheet w/ bread in the oven but dont close the oven door..that way you can watch the bread. Check on it frequently and until golden brown then remove carefully with oven mitts, turn off the oven and enjoy with some spaghetti!

INGREDIENTS
3 bulbs garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (1 pound) loaf Italian bread
1/2 cup butter
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Slice the tops off of the garlic bulbs so that the tip of each clove is exposed. Place the bulbs on a baking sheet, and drizzle with olive oil. Bake for 30 minutes, or until garlic is soft.
Set the oven to broil. Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally, and place cut side up on a baking sheet.
Squeeze the cloves of garlic from their skins into a medium bowl. Stir in the butter, parsley, and Parmesan cheese until well blended. Spread onto the cut sides of the bread.
Broil for about 5 minutes, until toasted

Sure you can..... Take a few slices, butter one side either rub top with real garlic or sprinkle with garlic powder, scatter a little parsley on top of that, and if you have it put on a little parmasan cheese(you know the stuff in the green can) Set your oven to the highest setting, put bread on cookie sheet or set on top of a piece of foil and bake, BUT DONT LEAVE IT WILL ONLY TAKE A COUPLE OF MINUTES!!!!! check it often Serve hot ENJOY
