Listen to you mom. She cares for you and loves you! If you're a teenager or younger, maybe that's the reason.. you're too young and therefore can be easily deceived. If you're over 18, then ask you mom abt her reasons. All parents want the VERY BEST for their children. I don't understand how come people say "Don't let your mom get involved in your life"! She's your mom, the woman who delivered you, nurtures and cares for you! Honor her more than you love you bf!

Looking at the parent point, you may be to young for a boyfriend,I believe 16 years old is a good dating age and with someone the same age. Talk to your mom and tell her how you feel.

From where I sit it looks like you are too young to have a boyfriend . Mom is in charge and calls the shots . That's why God gave us parents . You are to follow the rules ,subject closed .
Eventually it will be YOUR life and the lessons learned now are what will make you choose for good decisions . Girls that jump the gun and run around behind their parents' back get in trouble .Your mom loves you , she only wants your very best . Lucky girl.

Well, I can tell you that sneaking around will only get you in more trouble. Your mom isn't stupid, and you won't be able to get away with it forever.

Also, it depends how old you are. She may be right to restrict you from having a boyfriend. If she feels that you are too young to be worrying about things like that, then you should respect her decision. My only advice would be to try and talk it out with her. Have her explain to you exactly why she made this rule, and open your ears to her explanation.

first off how old are you?. secondly maybe your mom knows why she keeps saying that. I'm 16 and my when i was back home in my country they told me not have any boyfriend. but the more they told me is the more i wanted one because i just wanted to see why they didn't want me to have one. some boyfriend are good and some are just plain bad. but life is all about making mistakes and learning from them. now you have a boyfriend , do you see why they are telling you not to have on. parents are just too over protective. they always want to protect you. but for how long. it makes no sense hiding your boyfriend from them ,because maybe you think they don't know but sometimes they do. just let your mom know that she can trust you. sometimes it's all about trust. maybe your mom just don't trust you or maybe it's the other way around. maybe the boyfriend.

How old are you? Over 13? Having a boyfriend is normal human behavior.

Maybe you should've asked this before getting the boyfriend. Whipping up concern about it now seems too little too late, doesn't it?

Tell your mother that she should practice not getting involved in your personal life because you are the one that is always going to be in charge of your life, not her!

Don't lie to your mom or any family member. It will be harder to get her accept him and that you are dating. Just be honest with her when she questions you and be honest on who he is. Maybe assure her that school and/or work is still top priorty and that things are not serious it is just dating.
