I have had bad stomach issues for 6 weeks. I am nauseous all the time and have diarrhea. 2 days ago I was throwing up all day but woke up the next day and only had the nausea and diarrhea (no vomiting). I am also very dizzy even though I am trying to eat (no appitite) and stay hydrated. I am also very tired and lazy but can't seem to sleep well because I am too worried about my health. It seems to get worse it the mornings and when I am stressed or worried about it. I have been to my doctors multiple times and she did blookd tests, stool tests, and urine tests, all normal. I then went to a specialist who said it is probably just a virus that can last 6 weeks. Does anyone know what could cause this? I am a freshman in college and my family just moved so I have a lot of stress in my life but I don't think that would make me this sick.

I haven't been camping or anything like that. I was at school and this started one morning. After it didn't do away in a few days I went to the health center. I have tried antibiotics and acid reflux medicine. Now I am taking a Probiotic but nothing else. It just seems to get worse though.

you mentioned stress which could make it ibs otherwise known as a spastic colon. Don't be afraid to get a nother opinion from a gastroenterologist. You may have had a virus, and the stress made it last longer and caused prolonged symptoms. I would wait a little while longer just in case it is a long virus duration, and then go to see the specialist again. You may need to be scoped to see whats going on. In the mean time, watch what you eat, even if you aren't eating a lot. Follow the bratty diet or brat diet which consists of breads, rice, apple sauce, teas, toast and yougurt. These are all excellent for a recovering digestive symptoms. Keep an eye out for any other symptoms like bloody stool, fever, rash anything like that as those can be signs of something more serious. Ibs or a long lasting virus seem most likely in this case, but if you are still expiereinceing symptoms or they have increased in intensity I would make an appt to see the dr. again.

Has anybody checked you for gluten sensitivity? You might want to ask about the possibility of celiac disease or some other food intolerance like lactose intolerance. There are some tests that can be done, but doctors often don't think of these as possibilities unless you specifically ask to be checked for them. Another way to find out is to go on an elimination diet for about two weeks, but this should also be done under the supervision of a doctor. Good luck.

reflux, hiatil hernia, pregnancy... stay away from caffiene, coka cola, chocolate and peppermint. Elevate the head of your bed at night so that you sleep with your head higher than your feet. Water down juices for a while. Go on a BRAT diet for 3 days. Banana's, Rice, Applesauce and Toast.
Back in the old days they use to give people milk toast. A slice of dark toast, dipped in scalded milk.

This definetly sounds like a stomach ulcer, the stress makes it worst. You should go get checked for it, meanwhile makes sure you keep basic foods (yogurt, milk, AVOID acids like vegetable juices or orange juices) in your stomach.
