At the top of your Adobe Reader screen, in the menu, there's a text icon with an arrow and the word 'select' next to it. Click that, and it will allow you to highlight text within the document. Then, right-click and 'copy', or hit Ctrl+C to copy, or go to Edit>Copy, and then go wherever you want to put it and paste.

Are you trying to copy it into word or another word processing file? You can just use the select tool (It looks like a capital "I" and it says 'select' next to it. You can then right click with your mouse and hit copy. Then it will paste into Microsoft word or whatever. . .
Just a heads up, it will probably screw up the formatting, and not look like it did on the pdf.

If you are trying to copy and paste it into another pdf format, you are probably going to need a professional version of adobe with writer functions as oppossed to the reader that most people have at home.

Hope this helped
