The link people is a FAQ from the OH Secretary of States website. The last question is "If I am being compensated to assist a person to register to vote, must I notify anyone prior to providing assistance?" If helping someone fill out a voter registration card was illegal, getting paid to do so would certainly be. There may be rules about the type of assistance provided, but providing assistance appears to be legal.

No. It is not a crime; in fact, the political parties have employees to often help people fill out their voter registration forms. State or city employees can help someone fill out their registration forms if asked to do so . Some people need help if they are disabled, or blind, or cannot read & write. As long as the forms are filled out truthfully with the correct information, it is legal.

Not only will you NOT get in trouble for helping someone fill out a voter registration card, you should be commended for helping someone and promoting democracy, albeit in a small way!

No, as long as you're not imposing your political belief on the voter. The National-Union has its own voter registration and voting for absentee, http://www.voteprimous.com
