I was thinking about buying a new purse for the wedding- really for the reception to keep my makeup and extra stuff in. Are you bring/using a purse? Why or why not?
Thanks!!

Usually the bride has a special room to put her things in. You will be hindered by having a purse with you at the reception unless it is very small and matches your dress. You can leave it on your table during the reception if no bride's room is available.

I was a bridesmaid a few years back, and I got the dyeable purse to match the shoes and such. I actually found it really annoying. It's not like I needed money while I was at the reception, and who was going to watch it while I danced, ate, or took pictures?

Just stash your stuff in the bridal suite or someone else's purse, jacket, or car. You shouldn't have to worry about keeping track of a purse on your wedding day.

I never carry a purse so carrying one on my wedding day never really crossed my mind. Most brides have a bag for emergency wedding day stuff- bobby-pins, lipstick, etc. I'd put whatever you need somewhere out of the way so you don't have to haul baggage around during your time to shine. The day is about you enjoying yourself. A purse is just something else to worry about keeping up with.

I am not bringing a purse. My reception has a bridal room in it that I can use to get ready in so my bridesmaids and I are all going to get ready there and I am going to leave all my makeup and extra stuff in that room. It is also your Maid of Honors job to carry all that stuff for you. If you plan on asking her to hold on to it just let her know befoehand so that she can plan on bringing a cute handbag for herself.

You have a bridal suite usually. Somewhere the bride and groom can go and keep their things go to the bathroom so they dont have to fight with the masses. You dont need a purse. Just something else you have to worry about.

I did not carry a purse. But, I did ask that my groom carry in his pocket my lipshine. I used a permanent lip color so I just need to shine it ocassionally.

Your mom or Maid of Honor should be OK with having a very small touch up kit close by for you.

I had one, but only because a friend of mine loaned it to me. I would not have bought a new one just for that. You could stash your stuff in someone else's purse.

I carried one 20 years ago - it was a nice little white satin one that was my mothers from her wedding. It was very convenient to have things I needed - however, I had nothing in it that was of great value so didn't have to worry about anything being stolen, etc.

If you decide to have money or something in it, have someone you can trust hold on to it - such as your mom, or lock it in their car.

My dress came with a purse, but I did not use it. Didn't need it, didn't want to have to worry about it.

I had all my stuff in the dressing room in the church. What do you need when you're walking down the isle?
