All the best email, phone, fax and internet scams and money scams come out of Nigeria.

Nigeria is probably on my top ten list of places where I would NEVER want to live, much less visit.

Just look at the news yourself! Did you see where over 260 people died stealing gasoline? That happens every once in awhile, but they continue to steal gasoline knowing they could be burned alive.

Have you seen "Tears of the Sun" with Bruce Willis? Fictionalized Truth!

If they offered to make me King of Nigeria (on the condition I had to live there) I would decline the offer!

Nigerians don't even like Nigeria that is why the leave as soon as they can (legally or illegally).

What is wrong with India? Do you not have enough sick people? Could you not better return what your country (India) has done for you by staying in India and improving that country?

Nigeria is THE most dangerous country on earth. There was Dr. Phill show couple weeks ago about scams that are based in Nigeria and people who got scammed. They also had a Nigerian Professor talk on the show telling about horrible situation in this country. Dr Phil (which I know lots of people give **** about, but he made some points) also made statement that US citizen should beware of traveling there. From 196 countries you might want to chose another one.

First of all, you are going to an African country which is poor. Will they pay you adequate money for your academic worth? Secondly, Nigeria is a country with pretty bad reputations when it comes to fraud and stealing. There, they can rob you in broad daylight in front of their so called police and nothing will come out of it since the criminals work with the police. As a foreigner, you are a potential victim in experiencing such devilish deeds. so do yourself a favor, decline the job offer

I have met some Nigerian people in Texas and my friends fom Nigeria babtized my daughter. Let me tell you this, they are just like you and me. The place you are going is okay. There are some parts of Africa with terrorism but you are safe where you are going. I think you should go because it will be a great experience for you. You will enjoy the people and their culture and they will enjoy yours, I'm sure. Best wishes! If you don't like it, just come back. What have you got to lose?

Nigeria is not full of terrorism but has it's share of crooks and people who will want to swindle you for what ever you have. Nigeria unfortunately is known for deceit and forgery.

Though once a british colony it has a very high standard of education and hard work, but living there if not a native can be borderline dangerous.

If living in Nigeria will only be for the duration of your educational goals, go for it, proceed with caution (who knows...you may like living in Nigeria). The experience can also make you stronger, afterall living in India should prepare you for whatever may come your way.

good luck in your future endeavors
