Male cats are possesive, and female cats are territorial, when you're talking about domestic cats. Kind of like people....lol.
Also, if the female has, or has had, kittens, they can become incredibly territorial. My cat did. She would chase anything except me and my husband out of our bedroom, where she had them, and when she wasn't in the bedroom, she would chase other animals clear out of the park, then come back home. She has a very large territory lol. She's pretty much the only house cat in our area, so she thinks she owns it. Even though we keep her inside.
Males are more laid back then females, so they are easier to get along with, therefore they are friendlier.

I have 2 male cat's and 2 female cats, and I can tell you it is just a difference in personality, while male cats tend to be the ones to lay in your lap, sleep in the bed with you, so on and so on, female cats can be affectionate but dont do the things that male cats do completely, I think it is the lack of hormones once you get them neutered, kinda like guys you have to take care of them without you they would be helpless, now with a guy he might seem like a loser but a cat like that it is the cutest thing cause he makes you feel like a parent of a baby, I dont know maybe it is just a guy thing.

I can't say that I agree with you. I have had very friendly male cats and I have also had very friendly female cats. I have also had both sexes that were skittish or standoffish.
I don't think the friendliness factor depends on the sex of the cat. It is rather due to how the cat was raised and treated, whether or not it is fixed, etc.

I would think it's a matter of preference but I think it's the other way around females are more friendly. I have had problems with male cats they can be kind of mean. I got attacked by one. But I was young and I was following him around in the desert because I wanted to pet him.

Normally that seems to be the case from my experiences, too but I have had two SUPER-FRIENDLY females also in my lifetime. I think the males are more 'people pleasers' and the females are more stand-offish due to their maternal instincts. They are always ready to 'protect' their young. I think they are just cool, independent females. I am not sure of a biological reason but you're pretty right on this one.
