You can never ave too much mileage on a diesel.They only get better with age pending they have been taken care of. Make sure the seller hasnt just power washed the engine compartment. Look for leaks and maybe ask for an oil sample to have an analysis done. Also make sure if modifications have been done to the vehical it wont break something else because of the added power or torque.

That cummins turbodiesel will outlast the rest of the truck. Mileage truly does not matter as much as how the thing was (and will be) used. The transmission is the weak link in all heavy duty pickups, so keep that in mind. The transmission, steering, axles, body, etc. will be gone long before that motor plays out.
If the previous owner used it hard (look for a gooseneck hitch in the bed), the trans has probably already been replaced in the last 3 years with a heavier unit and is good to go. Just ask.

Depends on how well maintained it was. My 3500 HD wrecker has 235,000 original miles and except for some minor problems with intake gaskets has been going strong.
Once you are down to a couple you are considering, have your mechanic do an evaluation. A few bucks spent before you buy can save a lot after the sale.
