Ignore it. If you pay any attention or respond to its crying, it only encourages the behavior. It takes a lot of patience, but it should work.

My pup did the exact same thing. You can get it lots of toys to keep it company, or another puppy to play with. If neither works, then she'll eventually get used to it, my dog did. The thing is, puppies and all dogs miss you the second you walk out of the door. My dog still cries and has been for the past 9 years, he just starts up when we first leaves, but eventually stops. He has abandonment issues, though. He's in that state of mind where he see's that we're leaving, but isn't sure that we'll ever come back. We do, every single time. It's just a dog thing. She'll be okay, it's just the impact and the stress that you are leaving her that causes her to cry.

Your puppy is still really young, and it's probably missing it's Mom and it's siblings. When you leave it on it's own, you might want to try putting a small clock inside where he sleeps. The ticking, sounds like it's mom's heartbeat, and tends to relax them a little. Maybe a little special blanket and some new toys to keep him occupied. The only other thing I can think of is alot of love and attention when you are home. I hope it's not left alone for too long being as young as it is.

Avoid good byes, leave a TV or a radio ON, even if it's an older dog when you say goodbye and they see you leave most likely they always want to go outside with you, they Love to go outside to explore new things!! you can also leave him a few toys out so he can play while your gone, or if you will be gone for a long time, usually kids love to take care of animals!! you can find a good kid to keep your puppy while you're out.Good Luck! by the way you have a great dog, enjoy, and love him!

It's just a BABY!!! It's a puppy that was just recently taken away from it's mother and any siblings. It's lonely, it's crying for company. You would too. Once it gets a little older it will be fine. If the dog is crated I recommend that you DO NOT go to it when it crys or you will be reinforcing the crying with the reward of your company.

Your puppy just misses it's litter mates. Try the stuffed animal with the simulated heartbeat that someone else mentioned, put small stuffed animals in crate with it at night. I would gradually take away the animals though and eventually the heart beat. Your dog will get used to it.

Sorry to say, but M&M DOES have a dog..I read one of her other answers about housebreaking. She said to scream at the pupy and spank it hard. I hope to god no one listens to that imbecile.

We leave the television on for our collie. The sounds make it feel much more comfortable. A blanket with your scent may also help.

With our new bulldog, we've been trying to just ignore the barking. (She constantly barks in her kennel when we go to bed.) Hopefully with time she'll learn that the barking isn't getting her any attention, so why keep doing it?

Good luck with your dog & the training!

It's lonely, at 9 weeks it is use to being with it's litter mates. I would get a ticking alarm clock that simulates a heart beat and make sur it has a comfortable secure place where it is left alone.

First of all I really hope M&M doesnt have a dog. Thats the last thing you want to do is punish your dog for wanting to be with you. Give him/her some toys to occupy it or turn TV on so its hears voices and doesnt think its alone and try to "sneak" out. You want it to feel comfortable so lots of reasurance when you get home. Over time he/she should get better. The dog is just young and wants to be near you.
