it's their lack of vision that's at issue. In my city (ALL Democrats) the city council changed the dumping laws because one gas station was discovered dumping old oil (which is against the law and they were charged). They came up with a dumping station (used to be able to drop off at any gas station for free). Great idea? It's of course city run, so union rules make it almost impossible to find open, and they charge a small fee. What do you suppose happened? People dump their oil, wiper fluids, etc, down the drain now. Especially the poor. Those neighborhoods have the worst contamination because they don't have transportation, don't have the fee, and have no other choice. Another brilliant, failed idea because Liberals cannot comprehend how real people live. Why do they think people will not take advantage? BTW: I am a Republican in the city. I care about the environment. Who supports pollution? I simply cannot support a group of emotional people who cannot comprehend reality. Liberal groups wanted small boaters to apply for ballast licenses that apply to ships. Another brilliant idea that was designed to raise revenue, as usual, and would have done nothing to clean the Great Lakes. Typical extortion.

I like the volcanoes answer-well thought out. So many just say humans without reasearching anything. They listen to the idiots who say that humans should give up those things which cause pollution, then jump into an SUV or some other gas-guzzling vehicle. They want still live comfortably, but they want everyone else to stop the pollution. Hipocrates...
Another answer is China's deserts. Every year, the wind picks up tons upon tons of yellow dust and dumps it on Korea, Japan, and all the waters inbetween. The dust is so thick that some days, Koreans are told that they shouldn't even go outside. When they do, they wear masks to block the dust. The haze gets so thick, your visibility becomes VERY limited. When it rains, it looks like someone dumped hundreds of buckets of yellow paint on the roads.

Is this a trick question? Of course, humans pollute the most. Your premise that living beings "should" live in complete harmony with the environment is flawed though. No species that I know of lives in complete harmony. They are all competing for life, space, food, and other resources. I will concede that a balance is maintained but that is not the same thing as harmony.

Harmony doesn´t mean not to polutte. What is waste for some beings is food for others. Balance depends on the amount of waste.
Only most aerobic living beings are at risk is atmosphere is polluted with CO2. Anaerobic beings, and most trees and plants are not at risk. Life will go ahead with or without human beings.
It´s hard, but it ´s a simple truth.

That would be Gorillas, they leave bananna peels all over the place, not to mention, they shed everywhere. Have you ever seen an out house in the jungle, they just go where ever they want without regard to groundwater. Thank goodness for their hariless cousins Man, they will straighten all this out. As I am typing this answer we are working on the problem. We have been systematically taking down that nasty old jungle/rainforest, which is the food source for these pollluters. We have a lot of them in jails already, special ones called zoos, poachers help out by killing them so man can keep their body parts for souveniours, this helps. It won't be long before this problem is resolved and we have some nice condos built there.

You and I. Any idea how much pollution was produced when your computer was manufactured? I don't suppose you ride in an automobile, do you? How about your house, is it heated? Eat any processed food? Own anything made of plastic? Any synthetic materials in the clothing your wearing? The world isn't as polluted as some people want you to think. For instance, the air we breath today is much cleaner than a hundred years ago when every household was burning their own coal for heat. You won't hear that from the ''doomsday'' liberal machine!

In terms of "pollution," it could be argued that the greatest polluter of the environment is not living at all; volcanoes spew out 10,000 times as much CO2 in a single eruption as mankind has produced since the Industrial Revolution.

Humans. Now a days the advanced technologies and large scale industries are the foremost reason for the same, air pollution due to release of harmful gases, water pollution due to the waste acids, chemicals thrown out from the industries, land pollution due to garbage etc, main reason for pollution is highly grown industries.
