I have read that Castor oil works. (good sources that I have confidence in) Buy a bottle of Castor oil at the health food store. Soak a piece of cotton flannel in the oil. cover the scar with the rag. Cover that with plastic to try to limit the mess. then fasten it on with masking tape, or an ace bandage, or whatever you need to use. If it is on your arm, it is easy to cut the top off of an old sock to use that for a wrap. You can reuse the rag until it gets really gross, then throw it away and start a new one. If you can keep the wrap on most of the night, then shower the sticky mess off in the morning, you should see some results in a couple of weeks, and major results in a month or two. It is a nuisance, but cheap, easy, and non-invasive.

I'd have to say the best thing to use is Cocoa Butter formula. i personally havent used it, but my teacher had a huge scar on her neck from a surgury, and she used it twice a day for a month and it pretty much dissapeared!
