Bring 'em kitty treats.
Stay away from the catnip though, most cats go psyco when they're stoned.
Cats are just weird about who they will or won't associate with. Don't take it personally if they won't come around.
My wife has 5 cats and they all just look at me funny or run off.
Only one of them will even come near me.
They are just as bad as people some times.

I have a skittish female who will take anywhere from 10 months to a year to get used to a new person. I was lucky in that my boyfriend understood this about her and didn't take offense.
She warmed up to him faster than anybody else and eventually took only 6 months of us all living together before she warmed up to him. Here's how he treated her:
Whenever he'd see her (from across the room, etc.), he'd talk to her in a sweet, very soft voice, just saying "hello" to her, greeting her by name and telling her how "beautiful" she is (cats are easy to flatter!).
He never made any fast movements around her, nor did he ever call her to him or attempt to get close to her.. until about the 5th month or so, then I started letting him be the one to hand out the treats and catnip.. when he already had her attention, he'd talk to her (again), but take a few slow steps closer to her, set the treat on the floor and walk away.
Gradually, she got used to the idea that "hey, this guy doesn't chase me or scare me, he says I'm beautiful & he feeds me treats!" Now, she sleeps up in bed with us the way that she used to sleep with me everynight.
She's still gradually opening up to him, and when he's home and I'm not, she'll poke her head out to be talked to (instead of hiding all the time), she'll make a point of walking/dashing past him (as if to say "hey, notice me!!"), and she'll even walk up to him and sniff at him when he's not looking!
It just takes careful consideration and lots of time! Good luck.

Number ONE: No cat is an "OLD HAG". Just because he/she doesn't like you doesn't mean you should bag on her/him. That said, the BEST thing I can think of being a cat lover myself is to bring over a can of tuna. I GUARANTEE they will go CRAZY and you will be popular with the cats and the girlfriend. The old saying goes that we don't choose cats. THEY choose US. They are very independent. Good luck to you!

Cats are cats (not hags). You don't get cats to like you unless they decide to like you. Sure, if you bribe them with some delicacy they will love you truly, madly, deeply for the seconds it take them to secure their prey. Afterwards they will go back to pretending they never knew you. However, the more they get used to you, the more they are likely to tolerate you. Which might very well be the highest praise you can expect from a cat. (And don't get me wrong - I love them!)

Treats is the best way.
You can buy treats at a pets market but some pets don't like them don't ask me why...
If you want to get really creative you can take them a little bit of tuna or salmon, my cats go insane over salmon.
But eventually they will see you as someone who always brings them treats so they will be happy to see you. After a week or two of bringing treats they will come to you heh

Cats are picky. You have to let them be and let them come to you. I have 2 cats of my own and the first week they stay away from me ,and now even one of them is on the desk waiting for me to pet her. And If that doesn't work buy some cat treats. Get the pounce ones. When you shake it they will come running. If that doesn't work. Put some in a dish on your lap. Eventually they will come and see what it is.

If you really want them to like you just sit on the floor with some of their favorite food or treats. Put the treats or food on your legs and leg them come near you. Once they start eating just sit still without making movements. If that works they will be used to you and they will start to think you wont hurt them. Once you gain their trust they are most likely to start liking you. Hope this helps! Best of luck.

Buy some shrimp or salmon, then feed them little bits from your fingers.
This is no guaranteed help, but most cats like salmon.
Yes, sometimes these bitches can be bought!!!
Apart from that: the more youtry to be friends, the more they stay away.
Just leave them.
And keep AWAY from catnip.
My cat once bit me in the thumb right to the bone when I had catnip in my fingers.
She completely lost control, but it was my fault.

My mom's boyfriend lives with us, and our cat always hisses at him or growling at him. Usually he's like Doctor Dolittle. All animals like him. It's just her I guess, she's the only animal I've seen not like him. I think our cat just doesn't trust him. That is probably why. She usually doesn't like adult men.She likes us girls though. She is a girl cat too. Maybe that's another reason the cat doesn't like you.

Hey you CANNOT force a cat to like you. So sit back and give them time to get to know you. Its worth the wait believe me.
