I'm getting married on July 7, 2007. It will be an outdoor wedding and I am stuck on colors. My fiance likes royal blue and I am also a fan of blue. We thought about royal blue and silver/white. I'm not sure if these are good colors for a outdoor summer wedding and I have brown hair and light skin. (not sure if that would make a difference) I am also stuck on what kind of flowers would go with these colors. I don't really want roses. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

Royal blue tends to be more of a trditional color pick for a fall/winter wedding. The flowers may be more expensive since it's not a typical summer wedding color and florists may think of that. I would suggest maybe going with a light baby blue. This keeps the original blue you wanted but just a couple shades lighter and it will definitely set the mood and tone for a perfect outdoor summer wedding. You can also still keep the silver and white as your secondary colors. It will be gorgeous. Your invitation swill also be alot easier to find in the light blue than in the royal. My wedding is June 23, 2007 and my I chose light pink and brown as my colors. I am basically doing everything in pink and my accent color is brown. I am going for a more modern chic wedding though and that is why I picked these colors. So think about what you want your guests to feel when they see everything. If you want them to think outdoor summer wedding I would definitely go with the light colors. Just remember to try to set the mood. But most importantly it is YOUR wedding and you need to do whatever will make YOU(and your fiance) happy! Good Luck with everything and Best of Luck to the both of you!

David's bridal has a color called Pool. It is a gorgeous color for summer. You could pair it with yellow or hot pink flowers.

If you're wearing ivory, I would suggest using a light blue and a muted yellow or a pale pink flower.

All that being said, probably the last thing you want outside in the summer is a dark color, BUT if you both love royal blue...it is your wedding and you should pick whatever colors you love!

I think royal blue is too dark for a summer wedding outside. If you don't want roses, why don't you find a flower you really like in a color you really like and pick your colors that way. You don't HAVE to pick a color scheme and then the flowers, you can start with the flowers and go from there.

Congratulations and good luck!

I think just silver would make a good summer color, royal blue tends more toward fall and winter. Maybe white and silver or a lighter blue. I think you could go with any kind of white flower, carnations would be great. My favorite summer wedding was done in yellow and red with daffodils. It was beautiful.

I really feel that you should have what you want -- it's your wedding. As a suggestion, why not have the girls in silver dresses and have the blue as an accent colour? You could have white flowers tied with blue ribbon then have blue linens on the tables and blue and silver balloons. I think that would make things look more summery and you would still have the colours you want.

If you both like Royal blue then go with blue. You only get married once should have what you like. Its your special day, have whats special to you. Blue will look lovely with white and silver, and if you have young bridesmaids perhaps have 3/4 length dresses for a summery feel. As for flowers ask a florist to give you ideas to go with your colour scheme and choose the ones you like best.

Royal blue and silver/white is going to look like an ice ball. You should use bright or pastel colors. For example: sage green and a light dusky blue would be nice. You could do light blue flowers and then it would be summeresque...

Well, your skin and hair color don't matter, since you won't be wearing the blue dresses.

My advice for these questions is always to pick a color that flatters your bridesmaids. They are the ones who will be wearing and paying for these dresses.

Cool date! My brother and his fiancee originally chose that date, but her brother is going to be in Basic Training then, so they moved it up to May.

Anyway, it's YOUR wedding. Do what YOU want! Pink does look pretty with blue though. White could look elegant with the blue and silver. Carnations maybe?
