It sounds like you already have a lot of women standing up on your side. You could put him on the groom's side especially if he and your fiance get along. I stood up in one of my best friend's weddings on HIS side, but it worked out two ways: 1. i had never met his bride (in person) and I didn't want to stand up for someone I didn't know and also, 2. her only sibling was a brother who evened things out by standing on her side.
Her color was a fall orange color and so he wore a tux that had a matching vest and tie to her color (the other two groomsmen wore basic black and white tuxes) and I stood up on my friend's side and wore the same dress that the bride's maids wore only in black.
If you can't work him into the bridal party maybe he can do a reading and then at the reception he could always give a speech.
Congratulations!

If it is ok with your fiance, I see not reason why you can't have him on your side but he may feel a little silly with all of the ladies. Probably better if he is on the groom's side - again, only if your fiance would like him as a groomsman. I did go to a wedding once where the groom's best friend was a gal and the bride's was a guy. They each had them on their own side as best gal and best guy. Both wore tuxedos...pretty cool and thought the bride and groom were very confident in their relationship with each other.

I've performed over 150 weddings & have seen several cases where the bride had a best "guy friend" stand up on HER side. In today's day & age, you can really do whatever the heck you want. If your fiance's sisters will be standing on your side w/you, then I would suggest having your brother on his side. Another suggestion would be to have Michael do a special reading at the ceremony. Good luck! Feel free to email me w/any other questions.

It is no problem to have your guy friend on the Bride's side. There is no wedding law that says the bridal party needs to be all women for the bride and all men for the groom. Its to be the people closest to you.
Go for it!

Portuguese tradition has the bride with a maid of honour and best man and the groom with a maid of honour and best man. This way you could have your friend Michael and your sister with y ou as well as other bridesmaids and your fiance could have his sister and a guy friend as well as other groomsmen/ushers. In reality though, it's your wedding, you do what you want. Going to Hawaii would be easier but don't you want your family and friends to share your special day?

If there is a guy you want in your wedding party, he goes on the man's side, obviously.

Do whatever makes you happy, these days, there really are no rules as to who stands where, etc.
Congratulations and good luck!
