Do the people who care for you know you are a cutter?
What if you hide it and they do find out? They would never believe that it was an accident and you hid it.
Just tell them that you don't do that anymore and that you have had an accident. You only want to make sure they don't think you did it on purpose. Explain how it happened.
If they care enough about your health that they don't want you to be a cutter anymore, I am sure you can make them believe it was an accident.
Good luck and please talk to someone, anyone, if you have those feelings again. You are not alone out there, my daughter also started to do that. We know what the reasons are and those that love you would rather be upset or shocked for a short time then to know you are hurting yourself.
You sound like you are on the right track since you can admit you WERE a cutter!!

I have a few scars (small) on my body. I say, "this one's from being careless around the lawn mower's gas engine", and "this one's from proving that when you hold an iron you CAN'T swing the cord away with the same arm that's holding the iron", and "this happens when you reach into the oven with short sleeves on", and "this one is from pulling my arm back from the cat (but the cat was still holding on)". You see, it can all be stated candidly and with humor. To those who see the cut and know you've cut before, you can retort, "Oh, sure, AFTER I quit cutting I discover the right way to make a good mark..." or some clever pun like that. Use the perceived weakness as a means to build strength. It's all in the attitude, which is in your control, so don't go giving it up because of anyone's comments, looks, etc.
The past IS the past. Don't linger on concerns over anyone's opinion of what you've done or even will do. The opinion that matters is YOURS and those who support your interests. You're your own best friend first, show others by your sense of confidence the standard you hold. If anyone doesn't step up to that level, let them be their pathetic limited selves. They have neither vision nor empathy.
Best wishes for your inner strength and outer happiness.

I'm sorry you got such a bad cut. :( It's officially winter now, so depending on where you live (and what the temperature is like), you could just wear 3/4 length or long sleeve shirts. And if you can't do that, just wear a band-aid over it. If people ask, tell the truth (that it was an accident). If they don't believe you, don't bother with them. Chances are, people won't think too much of it anyhow...everyone has accidents! It'll be ok. :)

Quick fix long sleves.
The better answer is come to grips with what made you a cutter.
Fix that wound and maybe help others when you build yourself to the point you are comfortable with your scares.
We all have scares some people can see an others that you can't see.
You are going through a very tough time. So here is the honesty you need to get through your head now. Those friends who are with you and supporting you keep them. Those who are staying away or giving you a hard time keep them away. Keep only those who are helping you. You already have enough distruction in your life don't add to it.

Don't cut yourself. Figure out what is bothering you and then try to find a solution to what is really causing you pain. You may need to find somebody you can trust to help you.
Hiding it would be the worst thing you could do. When you expose your hurt to the right people, they can help you find a way to heal it.
