Yes. It's definitely. There is no rule, law, etc that says a man and a woman cannot be friends. If people have a problem with that, then let them. I have a friend whos really close to this guy and everyone thinks they're going out but there not. I think it's just what society tells us- a man and a woman can't be friends cuz if they are, they're probably going out. It's just not like that. So if you're worried about that, don' be. It's all good! :)

Happy New Year!

We have different thinking and outlook in life. If the man courts a woman and the woman says "let us just be friends" (way out)well that's hypocrisy. Emotions can never be mixed with true friendship because it is selfless. However, if the woman is inlove with the man and realized that she can never have him it is a good thing. We all have libidos and urges and I don't agree that friendship are just pure intentions (for opposite sex). It may develop into something more than that especially when a party or both parties are looking for some spice or missing flavors from their partners. Oil and water don't mix.

No. I used to think so, but all my male friends tried to cross the line. There is no way that a woman and a man can just be friends. At some point there will be curiosity and that will either end the friendship or create a new relationship. Thank you.

A man and women can never be friend...cause the sex always comes in the way. no man can be friends with a women whom he finds attractive.
Yes, that's right, they can't be friends. Unless both of them are
involved with other people, then they can. ...This is an amendment to the earlier rule. If the two people are in relationships, the pressure of possible involvement is lifted. ...That doesn't work either, because what happens then is, the person you're involved with can't understand why you need to be friends with the person you're just friends with. Like it means something is missing from the relationship and why do
you have to go outside to get it? And when you say "No, no, no it's not true, nothing is missing from the relationship," the person you're involved with then accuses you of being secretly attracted to the person you're just friends with, which you probably are. I mean, come on, who the hell are we kidding, let's face it. Which brings us back to the earlier rule before the amendment, which is men and women can't be friends.

Its from the movie when harry met sally....thought u sud read it.

Why not.. it all depends on the thought of the person...

if you have a perception that you cant be friends you can never be.

Its just the matter of how we take the realationship.

I know a lot of girls who are just friends....

As far as society goes.... ya... may be after marriage there can be some taboo of a girl being a close to a boy other than her husband.. though i am not of the same thinktank...!!

Yes they can, but you have to clear about the relationship. It doesn't need to be a situation where you want to be his friend to be close to him because the lines of friendship will be blurred. I think if you're honest and upfront about the feelings you both have then their is no reason why you can't be friends. There are plenty of guys that I know that are just my friends, a couple I have dated others I have not. Friendship is attainable if you're clear that's all you want, both of you.

Of course, happens all the time, like with a co-worker. Not every man-woman relationship has to be sexual.

YES! But you need to make it very clear that thats only what you want from him. But some men cannot be friends with women. Some can. Some men will stay friends with you because they want you, and they are waiting for you to make a move. Those are the guys that you have to reassure that your not looking for anything with them.

Yes, I have several women friends that I would never cross the line with. You just have to know where the line is. Flirting is not innocent between friends. It can lead to a damaged friendship
