morbid obesity is usually determined by a formula calculating height and weight to end up with a number called the Body Mass Index (BMI) [formula found here: http://www.obesity.org/subs/fastfacts/morbidobesity.shtml). A BMI of over 30 is considered obese. A BMI of 40 or higher is considered to be morbidly obese (this number may vary a bit depending on who/where you ask). Also, please take into consideration that individuals who are very muscular, pregnant or a few other conditions may have a high BMI, but not be overweight/obese at all. It is just an ignorant number that needs interpretation within context to have meaning.

Height-weight tables have alse been used in the past, but now are considered by most to be less reliable. Here is one that shows height and lists weight ranges considered to be normal.

Morbidly obese is 50 pounds over the recommendation for your weight, height, and sex. Just generally obese is 25 pounds over.

thats would depend on the build and height of an individual. 140 lbs may be obese for someone short and then at the same time be someone's ideal healthy weight.

my theory is if you cant see your feet when looking straight down then there is a problem. But seriously I think if you weight over 300 then you are morbidly obese.

Can't say without your height, sex, age, some details....

Besides, only BMI considers weight to be the golden number - the rest of the fitness world would use bodyfat percentage.
