The Galapagos Islands are part of Ecuador. The principal city of Galapagos is Port Baquerizo Moreno and the most visited island is Santa Cruz. The Galapagos Islands are in the national sea of Ecuador about 800 km of their coast.
I'm from Ecuador and I recommend you to visit the Galapagos Islands, if you can.
Happy New Year.
Good luck
