1) Shut the door
2) You didnt say anything wrong
3) Your coworkers are rude
4) Maybe you should complain to your supervisor about this.
5) If possible(if it wont get you into trouble) raise the volume on your radio at work when you're not busy or on the phone and see how they like it.
6) If all else fails you might need to get another job or another office space somewhere.

ok well since you said "shut the door" , i would go and just shut the door and raise up the volume on ur phone. If during the day there loud and ur not on the phone just plug in the head phones and listen to cd's or intenet radio.
Sorry, i kind of know what you mean cause i work in an office too, but unlike you we work in cubicles so noise is an everyday thing to me, but then again the people I work with have more respect for each other. Hope my answer helps u a lil bit at work :o)

Sounds like they choose to be loud. I would do the same to them. Right when their phone rings I would start talking really loud, or banging stuff in my desk. LOL.
I was going to say that some people that suffer a hearing loss or live with someone that has a hearing loss tend to talk a little louder. I know that for sure. I talk louder now, because my hubby is nearly deaf in both ears. I don't do it out of disrespect.
I would contact HR in your company and tell them that you notice people being rude and talking to loud. Maybe they can have a meeting addressing that or you could ask a customer that you are comfortable with calling and telling someone higher up that they had a hard time hearing due to background noise. It may work. Good luck.

Shutting the door might be a good way to deal with this.
I recommend choosing a moment where the loud behavior is not happening to approach the person privately. You could say something like, "Earlier today when you were talking it seemed really loud to me and it made me hard to do my work. Could it be possible for you to speak more quietly when you're around my office?" Then, after a relatively short period of time when they have made an effort to be quieter, talk to them again: "I just wanted to let you know that I have noticed you've been speaking more quietly near my office and I really appreciate it."

You didn't do anything wrong. Since they can't respect you enough to quiet down when you receive a call, just walk over to the door and shut it sternly every time a call comes in. It may be a pain in the butt to do this all the time so if you can, just keep your office door shut. Maybe they will get the message then. Good luck.

The loud person in my office is the boss. So I have gotten up and shut his door so other people can't hear his conversations as clearly.

Try to speak to your head of department about the situation, let them know that you can hardly concentrate on your job because of the loud speaking co-workers and ask for something to be done, some companies are totally against others disturbance in the work place so try that and see what happens.

I just get up and shuts my door.
Then at a later date when things are quiet, I talk to the person(s) in question and tell them that I find it hard to hear people on the telephone or even to think when they are so loud. It usually makes them think twice.
Good luck!

Probably would have been my best answer, people are people, they seldom change if their that type of person, not to be stupid or anything..know it's a workplace....but perhaps a good ***** slap might help...only jking....talk to their supervisor, though snitching is probably not good either. A good talk to that person might help, talk with other employees and see if they share the same problem.

Tell the "LOUD" people that you are sensitive to loud noise since you suffer from headaches and that you would appreciate it if they could tone down their voices. I am sensitive to loud noises especially big mouths. I think you will evoke less of a nasty response if you tell they you suffer from migraines and are noise sensitive. GOOD LUCK!
