Sometimes yes and sometimes no. In my state, when an offender on probation fails to report for an extended period of time, the probation officer will file a violation report with the prosecutor's office. At that point, it is up to the prosecutor what he/she does with it. Sometimes, if not reporting is the only infraction (no new felony charges, drug use, etc.) the prosecutor will elect not to ask for a warrant. This is due to a variety of reasons, including crowded dockets, and sometimes, I suspect, laziness.

yes. case in point: a man did not report for probation a warrant was issued after the first six months. He was arrested nine years later and taken back to court. Due to his age at that time he was given probation again with the warning that any violation would result in 20 years in the state jail.

Yes, for violating the terms of their probation it is common to get a resentenced often with jail

yes, people get arrested all the time for probation violation,, and thus have to serve their sentence they were probated on ,,,,,

well, people that don't show up for probation get issued a warrant for their arrest.

More often than not, they receive a VOP and the judge sentences accordingly.
