I know. I own pitt and am. staff's. They're a great breed. I hate stereo types.
Most people look at the dogs head and face and think automatically it's a pitt bull. They're wrong. They mix up the close relatives to the breed (i.e am. staff's, bull terriers, and other mastiffs) Especially when they are puppies.
What matters most is the body structure. Bull terriers are shorter and alot stockier than the other breeds. Their heads are larger and more muscular. Am. Staff's have a taller and leaner body, and not as big as a head.
Techniqually there is NO such thing as a "Pitt Bull' it's a nick name given to breed, and a stereotype. It came within the turn of the century to those dogs of a big and aggresive stature.

Yes I can. A friend of mine has one.Pit bulls are great dogs with an undeserved reputation!!!!! A dog is as good as its been raised!! I always say,bad dog,bad owner!!! Pit bulls need firm handling and correct training,. With that in mind, their is no reason why a Pit bull should not become a great family dog.
Researching a dogs breed, prior to obtaining the dog,is a must. There lies another story!!!!!

Yes I can -

However they do look like staffies and even small American Bull dogs.

Pit bulls get the blame because they are still being bred to fight in the pit and they are naturally dog aggressive. You cannot blame people for being scared of this breed of dog. I own a dog that people say to me (That breed of dog is dangerous) MY dog is not he's and Akita but I understand why they say it. It annoys me but I understand. Surely, you understand as well.

'Pit bull' or 'pitbull' through itself is a great term given to maximum 'bully'-form breeds. This incorporates the yankee Pit Bull Terrier(acknowledged below the UKC), American Staffordshire Terrier(acknowledged below the AKC), Staffordshire Bull Terrier, English Bull Terrier, American Bulldog, and numerous different breeds with that 'bully' look to them. whilst maximum human beings think of of a 'pitbull', what they are thinking of is definitely a rather contemporary breed called the 'American Bully'...which replaced into created through mixing bully-form canines together So, to respond to your question, sure, pit bulls are acknowledged breeds.

I would if I could, but you don't have a site listed.
***These are all beautiful dogs, got the Pit Bull on the 1st try. I have friends who raised them and they are great dogs. I wouldn't trust a Pit Bull I didn't know though, just because you don't know how they've been handled. I believe it's all in how a dog has been raised and trained. (Pit Bull or not!)

There's nothing wrong with Pit Bulls, they are good animals. Its the idiots that raise them to be fighters and teach them to be aggressive.

My family was involved in breeding big dogs when I was a kid and I've been around most breed of dog. After knowing, training and working with dozens of dogs I can honestly say that the only dog to ever attack me was a Chihuahua. Perhaps they should be demonized and treated as vicious animals? I certainly wasn't happy about it biting my ankle.
