I am looking into buying a 2001 Toyota echo.

It has 170,000km on it (hwy kms), comes certified and e-tested. No dents, rusting etc....Looks and drives well.

Price $4900 (canadian)

Is this a good car to buy? Looking for a good cheap economical car to get me around.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

I own a 2001 Echo and I was suprised to see the value still there. To me that price is a bit high with 170,000 kms. Does it come with a warranty/guarantee of any sort?
The Echo has been a great car and I enjoy mine although I should get to 58,000 miles in a couple of weeks finally.
It gets excellent mileage 35 city 45 highway
Just make sure you check your air pressure.
Enjoy the car if you get it.

The Toyota Echo should serve you well if you do buy it but try to find one that has a bit less km on it since 170,000 might be a little to much. However if the previous owner took good care of it than you should have nothing to worry about.

They are very durable cars and if it's well maintained I would say go for it.

hmm...might be a bad alternator---or some other electrical charging issue.
