I am chubby (about 170 when I last had the courage to get on a scale) and feel like such crap after I eat. Am I alone?

If you're feeling badly after you eat, you're not eating the right things for you. Obviously, you are conscious of your weight and this contributes to the feeling of guilt after eating. Change up your diet, even just a little bit. Incorporate fruits and vegetables and don't eat fast food. Period. If you have to eat "unhealthy" foods, eat only half what you would usually. I promise, you'll stop feeling guilty when you eat foods that are fueling your body and not just your urge to eat. I think everyone feels this way sometimes.

I am right with you. I think that we feel bad or guilty after we eat because we were not mentally strong enough to stop ourselves from doing something we really didn't want to do. We eat these things and immediately feel bad, just because we know it wasn't worth the torment afterwards, but we'll do it again. I think is healthy, at least you are aware that you have an idea of self control. I mainly feel this after over eating or eating garbage, i.e. McDonalds and the like. When you don't feel guilty, things could get out of control, look around, gluttony is in abundance.

Absolutely! I feel happy and good right when I'm about to start eating, and then right after I eat, I start to feel worried and depress (this only happen sometimes). I realize that I only felt this way when I over-ate! I realize that I didn't like the feeling of being overly full or stuffed and then I would get really depressed and I thought it was because of "food" in general. Try to only eat a little at a time and eat really slow. This will help, trust me!

I do not think you are alone, I feel the same way. I too need to lose weight. It is my fault only that I don't lose it. I don't commit to the diet long enough. I am weak and love to eat. I always feel guilty and sloppy after eating high-calorie food, which is usually the type of food I eat.

No, you are not alone.. I have been yo-yo dieting since July after I had my second child... Now whenever I eat I feel like a fat hog!!! I'm trying, but it's so hard not too... I recently just started doing Pilates though and it's helped out a lot!! It's not a strenuous workout, but you feel it!! You should try it... Good luck to you

i feel the same way. i feel so guilty when i eat. i feel like every pound is going to show right away. i wish i didnt have to eat but our bodies cant live with out food, just eat healthy foods and the guilt will go away. when you eat healthy you feel the satifaction of eating and knowing that what you are eating is something good for your body. youre not alone i'm ther for you.

no your not alone. i do the same thing. i love food, especially the foods that i am not supposed to eat. i do feel guilty after i eat it. i think that is normal. it is hard to lose weight. i fight that battle constantly. what i have learned is that you have to replace the foods that are bad for you with foods that are healthy. to simply give up foods does not work. but keep trying!

I've felt guilty after eating things I know I've shouldn't have considering I'm diabetic, but i've never felt repulsive of myself because of what I eat.

Perhaps you should consider making smarter and healthier choices in food so that you won't feel the need to feel bad about it afterwards.

If I go overboard (like when I finish eating as much as I can at an all-you-can-eat buffet), I feel guilty and make sure that I exercise the following day.
