In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

Yes. Common belief states that Lucifer is still an angel he is just considered a fallen angel. Other fallen angels fill his ranks and help him with his work. Most of Lucifer's names in their original language mean "accuser" because Lucifer accused and questioned God. Because of this he was the first to "fall" and he is the leader of other fallen angels because while they had the same belief as Lucifer, it was the devil who "accused" God while the others could not.

I do not believe in this myself but I have 9 years of parochial schooling under my belt. What I have written above is the best that I can remember

Lucifer is a name that Isaiah gave to the King of Babylon. It was not Satan's name. The only name Satan has is Satan or Devil. He does not deserve a name. People have named Satan many things but God does not tell us what his name is. The only angels mentioned by name are Michael and Gabriel. Zechariah is the name of a prophet. Not an angel. The other names you list for angels are all mythological.

Not only is he still an angel, but I believe that he is still physically beautiful. Before Lucifer fell, he was described as the most beautiful angel in heaven - the image we have of him of red skin and a forked tail is nothing more than folklore. His beauty is intact... and maybe that's what makes him and his temptation so hard to resist. The beauty is a lie of course, but it is still tempting.

Technically, Yes. Albeit a "Fallen Angel". Angel actually means not much more than "Messenger" anyway, so it's no big deal. The word "Angel", in and of itself, really has no divine conotations. Like most anything else, there are "Good" Angels and "Bad" Angels.

2 Corinthians 11:14 refers to Lucifer, the deceiver, as an ANGEL of light.
He is an angel still ....not in the sense of being a wonderful individual, but he is invisible to human eyes and more powerful than us and inhabits the spiritual realm.

Yes. He is a fallen angel, as are demons. They are all spiritual beings.

I agree with most of the information. Your scholarship as to the origins of the words are clear. However, as a Christian, I believe that Satan is an adversary to people & to God (aalthough he is still with God often). Jesus even had to deal with his temptations in the wilderness. But he is a defeated adversary & is a mere angel, not even close to having the same power of God....rather he is only allowed to do what God allows him to do.
