there is ALWAYS a fleeting thought through both peoples heads about what it would be like if you WERE to be with your friend...its just nature i suppose.
in my psychology course at college, one theory which i strongly agree with is that there is an element of sexual chemistry in every male-female friendship.
i'm friends with females, and i have thought about what it would be like to 'be' with them... i'm a bloke - i can't help it!

I think they can but there will always be the people out there that say No way and thats their opinion, but for me I have alot of male friends I drink with and tell secrets too just like my female friends. I did have one friend male that I thought was very attractive and I thought that in certain situations I might have stepped over the line so I just avoided that person at that time ...keep temptation at arms length.I love my boyfriends they are wicked ;)

Yes, they can. Some of my best friends are men. Some have been lovers in the past, others have no sexual attraction for me, but they are very dear to me.
I relate to them differently from my girl friends. We talk about different things - and they give me interesting insights into the male psyche! (Strange things, men's brains - and they say WE'RE illogical!).
I think the 'sex thing' always goes through one's head and has to be dealt with. You meet, you assess, you think 'do I want to sleep with him?' then you either do or your don't, so you either do or you don't and then, if you like him, you become friends.

I think if a man is going to be friends with you its because he hopes one day to get in your pants. If you also find him attractive it will happen one day. The only way 2 friends wont have sex at some point in the friendship is if the women finds him sexually repulsive but loves him as a friend. Give any of your male friends the opportunity to get in your pants and they will be there is 2 seconds flat.

Only once they have the sex out of the way. For example if one of them is in a relationship, the sex is out of the way, as it is forbidden.
I think its really hard for to single people to be 'just good friends' without one of them longing for the other. But if one is in a relationship, or if the two people involved have kissed or something in the past and got it out of their systems then yes.
From my experience this is how it works. I have got single male friends that I haven't kissed, but we aren't that close.

I always though "no" but I met one of my best friends about 5 years ago when we worked in a bar together. We've been best mates ever since and often meet up for a beer and a chat. I love him to bits but couldn't fancy him in a billion years so yes, I believe you can be just friends.

Depends. Same age? Sexual attraction? Misunderstanding deep friendship for sexual love. Other people poking their noses in and giving opinions! Judgemental Friends jumping to conclusions.

Yes definely. My best friend is female and we first became friends in the first year of grammar schoool in 1948 and there was never a hint of romance. I am now 70 and we are still friends both happily married for 44years and not to each other

Of course, I have several "girl friends" that are just friends! Not that they are unattractive, one of my best friends is very attractive but because she is my best friend I never even think about or see her in that way, we have been friends for years and have a great friendship. You can be friends with anyone :) as long as they are nice, doesn't matter if there older/younger male/female :D
