I highly recommend The Gambia in west Africa. Fantastic weather (except July and August), friendly people who speak English as the official language and it's in the same time zone as the UK. It is the smallest country in Africa and one of the most stable. Oh, and it'sextremely cheap to eat out if you know where to go and get away from the tourist restaurants. You can get there in 6 hours and flights are about £460 return but I've flown for as little as £130 on a last minute deal. Check www.gambia.co.uk for more info.

Go the ten hours and visit China! Beijing, the Forbidden City, the Tienanmen Square, take a train and visit the Terracotta Army, finish off with a climb on the Great Wall of China, that and meet the charming people of china, their endless skills and join in on their past times, Tai chi, flying kites, fan dance, go to the Chinese Operas, learn how to paint, see the silk works, and the manufacture of endless beautiful items I could go on and on! lol - You WONT regret it, I didn't - a trip of a life time!

You could go practically anywhere in Europe. I recommend Germany, and you should hit the south of it, and go to the castle in Heidelberg, and Neuschwanstein, Munich, Ulm, and Stuttgart
