Plants have a complex role in an ecosystem.

They are the producers, which are able to change the energy of sunlight into sugar (food). They form the basis of the food web within any ecosystem. They also have the most energy in that ecosystem.

In addition, as many have mentioned, they are key to the oxygen/carbon cycle.

A few million years ago Mother Nature introduced plants,u can tell by the many old fossils in the coal mines. The plants recycling our air is just the first step in 2 life cycles. The plant takes in CO2 and keeps the C and gives us back the O2 . Then the plants loose their leaves ,stems ,and they all wash down the rivers to the delta where it will deteriorate to make gas, oil, and coal. The fossil fuels are renewable through the plants . The plants need CO2 as much as u need oxygen.
Why are some of the environmentalist trying to kill our plants? The more food the plants the more they will grow.
Pleas help the plants.
