What is your fav type of dog and why?????????????????

To each Master his own choice. We all like different things in a dog. Each person should try to find the best fitting type of dog for their own personality and lifestyle. This is how a dog gets a forever home. When the dog and the owner and family all have the same desire for what the dog will be like.
I love to have dogs that MUST have a walk. This gets me up and down the road, otherwise I'm lazy. I love to train my dogs to do simple and complicated tricks and antics. I love to play fetch and tug of war and other canine games.
My dogs need an owner who wants to do these things because my breed of dog is really good at these things.
So we are all very happy together now for 8 years.
Plus my dogs keep vermin off my property. Some dogs do this, some don't. This requires special care of the dog if it is a hunter of small prey as it will be very prone to escaping to hunt. This is a real burden to make my property extra strong to contain my dogs. And they have killed many a small creature and presented me with their fine work. Grossed out as I was...I accepted the fine gift of their labor and praised them for their work. They were breed for this work. So think hard about what YOU want in a dog.
Because dogs are like men, what you get is what you get and get and get...

American Akita -

They are awesome guard dogs
They are great with family and children
They house break themselves
They look great
They are big, powerful dogs that look impressive
They are very loyal and loving
They can determine between friend and foe ( MY Akita has proven this)
They are by far the best breed of dog alive.

Boxers! They are hilarious! Mine are such wienies, but if someone knocks on the door they bark ferociously. Not to mention they have a beautiful face that makes you want to kiss them all the time. My female is more hyper than my male. Pete is very laid back and loving. He follows me everywhere. He also likes to push his head on the back of my legs and stand in between my legs. They are so much fun.
I also agree that a rescued dogs are great. I also have a mixed female who just wants to be loved. She's so sweet and listens!

my fav type of dog is a beagle because of their ears. they are really friendly dogs and most of them dont get very big. my beagle is five months old and already pretty much house trained. ive had her since she was 9 wks old and i couldnt ask for a better or sweeter dog, especially if you like playful dogs

All dogs are great, but if I have to choose a particular breed,it would have to be, The Chihuahua. They are loyal, loving, protective, good little watch dogs, affectionate, love to be held and cuddled, very low maintenance, funny, cute, fun to dress up, very smart, and you can take them just about anywhere you go. I own five of them now and would not give them up for anything.

My favorite type of dog is any dog that has a loving forever home with a loving master.

I help place homeless dogs so whenever I see one go to a good home it makes my day.

Now, pound dogs are amazing & they're totally lovable.
But I personally have a heart for bullie breeds; English Bulldogs, Boxers, Mastiffs, and yes, Pits.

I just love their faces. SO adorable.

Border Collies! They are highly intelligent, very easy to train, very active, so they love to go out and play and they love to do dog sports like agility. All those brains, and an absolutely adorable package to wrap them up in. Who could ask for anything more? LOL!

I love chihuahuas!

I have a chi - have had dogs my whole life, but she is the one that I've been the closest to. They love their owners and never want to be away from them.

I also like dobermans and min pins.

German Shepherd. I have one. They are the most beautiful dogs in my opinion. Very good watch dog and yet so lovable and loyal. Also they are quick to train and are very intelligent.
