In my family we always make two. One spiritual and one personal.

Mine are to attend First Friday Adoration at least once this year (spiritual) and to excercise more and drop 20 pounds by Dec.

What about you?

Phoenix, the spiritual resolution deals only with church and my spiritual life, while a personal resolution is just a "What I think I should be doing."

My main resolution is to really, seriously organize my apartment. Living in a studio things can get very cluttered and overwhelming, and it's really difficult to tackle when you're dealing with one huge room. I find it much easier to straighten and organize if I can go room by room, and I can't do that now.

I also want to spend serious time studying Irish (I've been wanting to for years and just haven't made myself), learning to play the guitar, learning to play the lap harp, and working on my theban script.

I also resolve to sell my piano, which was a gift from an ex who meant well but wasn't thinking of how impractical a piano is for an apartment dweller.

Wouldn't a spiritual one also be personal?

I don't make them at all. I figure that if there's something I want or need to change about myself, I should just do it and not wait for the new year.
