He's hurting on the inside, and have much lover for the broad to show his emotions, by crying. A lot of men don't cry for a women. Unless it's his first love. He's young, or sprung for her sweet stuff.

First of all, it's "cries."
Second, if he cries when a girl threatens to break up with him, it means that he really likes her and the girl is a not worth it because she seems to be using that as a way to exert power over him.
