New Evidence that Demands a Verdict
I agree with you on many points. Here is what I agree with (quoting you here): "Basically I believe that there must be something greater than me, or greater than humans, in the universe. I also believe that I am not wise enough to know what or who that thing is.I also believe that humans have the power and the responsibilty to make this world a better place for all of us and our future generations. Perhaps ensuring that the human race is still alive and flourishing at a time when more knowledge can be gained. I wish there was a place where people of every race, creed, belief, and known religion could come together and celebrate our human side and the goodness of man. That is why I consider myself a Humanist."
I am a follower of Jesus (the risen one).

That was very well put! I am a christian. I am not tring to convert you, but i would like to plant a seed. I believe we do have the power and the responsibility to make the world a better place. I would also love it if there was such a place on this earth where we can come together in brotherly love. The difference between you and i is that i believe that there is a god and he sent him self in human form (jesus) so that we can have this place which we both talked about.
The thing is, Jesus was an actual human, by that i mean that existed and that is a scientific fact. So if jesus really existed and he was a good moral teacher, which he was, why would anyone follow him if he was a lier. He would of been thought of as a hypocrite from the start and would have lost the trust of everyone.

wow!I believe the same thing too.i beleive that we didint appear into the world, just like that!I believe that a force greater that we humans created us and put us where we are right now.and there is no way of knowing what or who that powerfull force is.
i also beleive that humans do have the power and the resposibility to make this world a better place but it is greed and corruption and all other kinds of suff that keeps us from uniting as one and building for a better future.and even though ther is racism and separated people just because of their beleif doesnt mean that someday they wont come toghether.even though the separation of on,i still know that someday,we will come togherther and celebrate what we are worth.its hope that brings thigs toghether.its the hope of the world.so next time, change the 'i wish' to 'i hope' :]

Well I am a Baptist and was saved on March 4, 1999. I believe Jesus Christ died for the worlds sins and was dead and arose 3 days later. I believe he is now at the right hand side of God the Father. I believe the KJV is the inspired word of God. This is just a short list but if you want to know more you can e-mail me. Have a good day.

If you believe there is something greater than you in the universe ie a God, then you are not an agnostic, you are a Diest. An agnostic would say that there is no way to know whether or not there is a God, so worry about how you live while you are here until there is proof one way or the other.

your on the right track, God created us and is way better than us, he put us on earth in peace. The two people sined and God cast us away from his perfect place. Now we are on this sinful earth with all these bad people.. We do have the power to change the world, but some people dont want to change. Jesus, Gods son, came to this sinful world and died so we could live in heaven (Gods perfect place).
All you have to do is believe that Jesus did for you, admit that you are a sinner, and confess your sins to God. Ask him to come in to your heart and if you really mean it, he will. Then your life will completly change.
Contact a church (Baptist) and talk to the preacher, he will talk to you and answer all your questions. Read a bible, it will tell you every thing. (if I need an answer, i just open the bible to a random place and read a line, God usually gives the right line and it helps me with my problem, try it and see)
Good Luck,
your christian friend

You really have an amazing spiritual connection. Why not check out the Unitarian or Unity churches, or the Baha'i faith. This is actually what you are describing in your question. These faiths are far more inclusive of all other faiths and it has been my experience that I feel very comfortable in any of their worship services. I am very much like you with my belief system and I think that you have a truly wonderful sense of spirituality. The world would be a far more peaceful if more people engaged in the same ideals as you. Bless you.

The only thing I truly believe is that I exist (and that existence is possible, something exists, etc). Everything else is assumption including the idea that I am typing right now. I could be imagining it.
That said, I have to live my life so for practical purposes I assume the world I see is real and only assume something is true if there is a great deal of supporting evidence.

Well, really, I believe everything, but not all at once, because I'm too young to get committed yet.
Honestly, though...I too am most definitely a humanist, in the most celebratory aspect of the word. As for beliefs in supernatural powers...well, that gets into a long and complicated explanation. I can sum it up best as Maybe, and also as Probably, and also as I've dealt with them and still don't really believe in them.

I believe in a force greater than myself, but I don't believe it is a being that consciously made us. I don't believe it is something to worship. I believe in respect of others, and nature, so through this I have come to a settlement of practicing mostly pagan/wiccan practices, but do not worship Gods. I have found peace with myself by not putting a label on my beliefs, and just being who I am.
